Well i was one of the few who stuck up for him in france last week, but little yellow backed ,turncoat ,judas ,2hat will get plenty off me for one on friday,and suspect i will not be alone,feck off right now for me,and this is coming from a supporter of 40+ yrs.

I thought he sounded pretty thick and pretty bigheaded. Pity he didn't tell Saints earlier that he had a longstanding desire to play rugby union but didn't think he'd get the chance! Us fans could have saved ourselves our vocal chords in either cheering him on or booing him off!

Probably did but if he had any respect for Saints or RL .. or the fans then he would have either refused the interview or made it plain the subjects he would or wouldn't talk about (which would probably have meant they wouldn't have bothered interviewing him).

If the guy had any class he would have kept his head down and proved all us doubters wrong by having a strong final season for Saints, now all he's done is alienate himself even more.

It's tough viewing for all League fans and as hard to admit as it is he's probably right in alot of what he says.

I think the problem with this sort of thing is that if the guy really did have respect for St Helens like he says he does he'd be better advised keeping his gob shut and doing his talking on the pitch. Go out there and perform to your best and regain some lost respect from the supporters that have backed you from the moment you got a break in their side instead of coming out and bigging Rugby Union up at a time when these same people are hurting.

Ashton did the same to us and sometimes you wonder if these lads have any real respect for the club, the supporters or the game. They get given their break, show 'some' glimpses of their potential and then run off at the first smell of the Union money whilst not even having the decency to show the game and the people that made them some respect.

Very sad really.

I don't know where the club stands on this but in RL is it possible for a club to stop a player from being interviewed in the media, contractually I mean?

It would depend on his contract I guess. I think if he said something that brought the game or the club into disrepute he could be disciplined but other than that apart from dropping him I doubt there's much we can do.

If he truly did have this huge respect for Saints he claims to have, it would be unnecessary to stop him.

Just watched it on the internet, and my blood is boiling. If union is the bigger sport, then why has he wasted his own time, and ours pretending he like playing rugby? I was trying to keep a level head, but he can go and now, I will boo him till my throat is ho!

This is the dilemma.

I've no time for Eastmond and wish we could have negotiated an early release for him.

But given that we didn't, I can't see that booing him while he's out there playing for the side will have anything other than a negative effect on the team as a whole.

I'm sure that some of his teammates would join in the booing if they were sat in the stands.

I'm struggling to see where he would play in Union. FB is probably his best option.

From a Saints POV - surely keeping him is holding back the progress of a HB in your reserves that could be given some game time?

Like it or lump it, for the time being Eastmond is one of seventeen Saints players out there trying to win games.

I can't see that an atmosphere of animosity will help in any way here - you can imagine a big game with the oppo fans giving huge vocal support to their team while we spend our time waiting for the ball to land with Eastmond so we can boo him.

Club over snide, snivelling, sell-out, money grabbing scrote every time.

I'm struggling to care where he'll play.

Totally agree that we'd have been better getting shut once his mind was made up which would have allowed us to try to bring in a replacement, but we didn't / couldn't.

We're struggling at halfback with the permanently injured Wheeler and Pryce, so it seems we're stuck with him.

It's ok though, he has such an affinity with the club he feels like he's one of us.
