We had a good start and everyone was telling us how good we were, but I thought we only ran well for about 4 weeks and since then it's been pathetic. That effort wasn't good enough, you've got to turn up all season to win Super League and we've not done that again, weve got a good fan base here who work all week and pay their hard earned money but that was a pathetic effort".

| Well he might not have the legs any more, but at least he understands the standards demanded.
I hate to say this, but we need a wane. The side has absolutely no fight or commitment, and I think the tone is set at the top, with brown. I thought his comments pre-Good Friday were appalling - he effectively excused two defeats before the games were played.
We need a coach who actually gives a stuff, and who'll make damn sure the players do too.

| Good to see Wello serving up a slice of truth pie. As it happens, I thought he was our best player, interception notwithstanding.
Watching that Leeds v Wigan match last night, I couldn't help but think that we'd be completely screwed in a fierce environment like that. That performance couldn't have illustrated that more clearly.

| Wire didn't even need to be good.
Thought Turner was our stand out worst player today but the forwards were pretty pathetic as well.
I have never been a hi-ho fan but he looked our best player today, apart from his passes to the invisible man.

| Walsh was our best player. Roby actually ran from dummy half for once, which caused me to have flashbacks to when he did something other than just tackle. Hohaia showed he can exploit space, but had no support and no brain once through a gap. After them, nothing. It would take too long to describe just how terrible everyone else was.

We were definatley better than we have been for large parts of this season - believe me!
If our defence was poor, what was yours?

| Paul Wellens summed it all up in his post match interview. The attitude was disgusting and it was an embarrassment.
Another spineless, inept, pathetic excuse of a performance from Saints.
Next weeks game is make or break for me, because Brown could go if we don't show better heart and commitment against Huddersfield

| The whole attitude from the side was rather blasé right from the off.
It looked as if we were treating the game as a pre season friendly or testimonial, such were the unprofessional attempts at hail mary passes, alongside a lack of desire to get their shirts dirty.
The pack was just soft, with the exception of Mose who actually started to throw his weight around late on after the game was gone.
Our pack really are flat track bullies. They look great against the lesser lights, but when they come up against teams that will get in their faces and rough them up they go hiding. Credit for Wire for seeing how Leeds and Wigan smashed Saints.
I thought a number of players had absolute shockers. Lomax in particular had a very poor game. He normally is one you can rely on but today his head and heart were elsewhere.

| It's all well and good paul wellens talking the talk in his interview and saying what all fans want to hear but, he threw a hail mary which lead directly to a try and he adds little to saints team on the field and doesn't seem to lead by example.

Why does Brown get another chance? After the programme notes following the cup exit, McManus's credibility will be shot to pieces if Brown gets to see another game as our coach.

Because it costs money to replace and I don't see MacManus forking out again to pay off one coach and possibly prize another one away.
It's all well and good saying Powell, but Powell is doing very well at Cas and does not need Saints.

On what basis?
A bit of strategic shaving, and that's a 'separated at birth' job. Obviously, the ape speaks far more eloquently - but fair play to Wane; he has you pies playing collectively above your players' individual abilities.

and one thing for sure-Wigan wouldn't put in a gutless display like Saints under Wane.

I disagree on this. Yes, it was a stupid pass, but other than that he was hitting harder than his teammates and was making tackles that his teammates were missing. It's sad that players who are far more physically equipped than him to play in his current position can't show the same guts.

Wellens tried everything he could in attack and defence. He certainly wasn't the first to throw a miracle ball, and it's just what had to be done, it was do or die at that point - and at least he tried (more than some)
It's hard to say anyone can hold their heads up after that. Individually, Mose did some good things, Walsh did some good things, the rest were wasteful or invisible at best.
It is collectively we are seriously in trouble, line speed is dire, aggression is none existent, structure is pretty much the last word I'd use to describe us in both attack and defence. On top of that, our conditioning is very poor, and the tackling technique is below amateur. We just can't seem to show any motivation what-so-ever.
Bitterly disappointed in that performance isn't the word. We have a collection of players who i know can play 10x better than that, but any sort of must win game and we capitulate like a stack of cards...

| The comparisons between Wane of Wigan and Nathan Brown are to me that Wane is a
Wiganer through and through, talks and acts like a supporter, and then compare him with Brown who to me looks like he would be rather on Bondi Beach with a few tinnies...

No, he's just one of many players who speak a good game.
Is Jon Wilkin going to be on the SL show this week?
