I would guess your only problem would be if they sold out the unallocated seats for the match.Otherwise,cant see a problem.Did the same quite a few times at Widnes,but then again there was always room there.

I have a 5 year season ticket in North stand B (unallocated), so that when my Dad visits from Scotland, and I take him to a game, we can sit together - even though this has only happened twice this year.
This year, there has always been spare seats in Block B, and Block A is never more than a quarter full, so I would have thought moving from an Allocated to unallocated would be fine. Also, the stewards don't check your ticket in our block. I would have thought that you would be able to do the same at the new stadium, especially for the least attractive games where the attendance will be lower - for the bigger games, these blocks may sell out, so you may struggle.

| Yeh Id imagine you could only do this once the game has kicked off. Because prior to kick off the stewards will have no idea how many people are going to pay on the door for the unallocated sections. The only solution would be to get an unallocated ticket for the whole season.
Hence why all the best spots are allocated.

Chair is kee[ing count I think.
My understanding is that on 1st Oct all the renewals will be done (in theory) so those seats relating to those who didn't renew (the fools) or who moved to another part the ground will become available as early bird seats and will be shown in real time on the website. (You would think there won't be many that fall into this category).
At that stage you will be able to get a fairly accurate indication of the no of season tickets sold. Then you need to add suits etc.
By all accounts its going pretty well and its very early days yet!

| Did a rough count on the 17th of Seats remaining unsold in the North stand reserved section
I made it just 174 seats left unsold from a capacity of 2787 within these sections, hence possible 2613 reserved seat sales
made up as follows:
C block 29 seats remaining
D block 15 seats remaining
E block 4 seats remaining
F block 26 seats remaining
G block 100 seats remaining
With regard to the South stand sales were as follows
C = 19 seats sold approx 500 remaining
D = 312 seats sold 70 remaining
E = 204 seats sold 7 remaining
F = Reserved for corporate
G = 272 seats sold 3 remaining
H= 138 seats sold 31 remaining
I = 256 seats sold 253 remaining
Total is 1201 seats sold
So looks like just over 3800 reserved seat sales

Hello Chair. I think I'm looking at the same plan as you and as expected the figures seem to have gone up a little since your last count.
As you rightly say this is only the reserved seating so we have to add (but don't know the figures) the no sold of unallocated have been sold in North Stand Blocks A,B, H & I as well as South Stand Blocks B & J as well as the whole of West Terrace.
It could be that we are well over the 5,000 season tickets mark already.

I reckon we are around the 6500 to 7000 mark as i think there will be anything upto 500 people in the family areas and unreserved seating. In addition there will probably be 2000+ terrace season ticket holders and around 1000 corporates signed up.

| A bit of an update on the Season ticket sales estimate for reserved seating.
Makes interesting reading as 30th September was the deadline for renewals.
From looking at the unsold seats we can see that a small but significant number of North Standers at Widnes have not taken up their renewal options for that stand.
When looking at the South stand however the number of available seats has continued to decline. Therefore it looks like a number of Widnes North Standers have absconded over to the South stand.
I make it that there are as of today 233 unsold reserved seats in the North stand up from 174 at the last count.
These are split up as follows
C block = 47 unsold
D block = 24 unsold
E block = 4 unsold
F block = 34 unsold
G block= 124 unsold
This would give a sold tickets total of approximately 2554.
With regard to the South stand the figures are as follows:-
C= 23 sold, hundreds unsold
D = 332 sold 50 unsold
E = 210 sold 1 unsold
F= Prawn sandwich eaters
G= 272 sold 3 unsold
H= 159 sold 10 unsold
I = 309 sold 200 unsold
This makes for 1305 sold seats in the South stand reserved section up from 1201 in mid September.
With Christmas coming up i would like to think there is a mini boom in October and November as people are bought season tickets as Christmas presents.
With the above figures we should be able to see if this turns out to be the case.

Nice to see we both agree pretty much on the figures. You go bog eyed counting the squares, or even rows of grey squares.

| I'm not going to question the figures, but just point out that counting seats sold and unsold does not really give any pattern for sales.
If the chairs figures are correct then when you add all sold and unsold allocated seating it only comes to roughly 5000k seats.
That's about a quarter of all available tickets.
We know the terracing are just under 4k each end. Which means seating wise we are only counting half the seats in the stadium on those figures stated above.
The numbers shift around and go up and down as people change seats or upgrade, but we can say with certainty that Saints have sold 4k of the seats we can see, that is 80% allocated seating sold.
If of the remain 9k of season tickets, that can be sold (away end excluded) say 50% has gone you are already looking at season ticket sales of 8-9k.
But like I say it's impossible to tell. Only the club knows how they are doing sales wise and publishing the figures could have a positive effect on sales or a depressing effect on sales depending on how people view it.
There is certainly 1 thing you can say, with season tickets for adults going at a rate of £261, even 4k worth of confirmed sales from the web site, brings in more revenue than say a bradford season ticket pledge of £85, for 12k sales.
I have no doubt that Saints will have sold more than the 4k we can all see and count.
PS block E on the north stand is now fully sold me thinks.

| I was doing a bit of season ticket promoting in a cafe at the weekend. I think as a result we will have a further new season ticket holder plus his young son (who would go free under Saints offer). Two other people joined in saying they have bought a season ticket for the first time this year and that it is a really good deal, etc, etc. There is quite a bit of talk around town about the new stadium. I think we could start seeing some healthy crowds now that we are no longer in a dump (albeit a fondly remembered dump!).

The 3800+ ticket sales is only a guide to see how things are going.
As you have said, and has been commented in earlier posts. We dont know about unreserved and family area seating, nor do we know about the extent of terrace season ticket sales, or much of the corporate sales. So we need to base our guesses on how the sales go in the North and South reserved sections.
I am confident that we will crack the 4000 reserved regular seat sales in the North and South stands before christmas.
This should help create a good atmosphere as it will mean that there will be a good amount of fans in each stand.
It will also look good on TV.
I also suspect that because terrace fans dont have a designated seat, they are more likely to leave buying a season ticket to later in the day. Christmas may therefore prove to be a boom time for terrace season ticket sales.
The great thing from the clubs point of view from these seat sales is the extra revenue it brings in, over and above that of the standard terrace price. At Knowsley road the main stand held approximately 2300. Of which around 2000 were season ticket holders. There was also no corporate seating at KR, while at the new stadium there are around 1000 premium seats, all of which cost significantly more than a standard seat.

I'm sure I read somewhere, maybe one of your posts, that all corporate was sold out?
Or was that just the boxes? Is there a difference?
Do you get a cushion in corporate or a better standard of pie?

All the executive boxes were sold out for the full season some time ago according to Saints.
Saints were also advising that they had less than 200 premium seats remaining.
Now that could be marketing spiel to try to get the corporates in early, but i like to think that the posh padded seats are going to be full to the brim of the lorded gentry of Merseyside.

That would be impossible because Merseyside doesn't exist except in the minds of bureaucrats.
The lorded gentry of Lancashire, now that's a different matter ...

I've just done a count to see how sales are going now the season is over and the stadium is getting closer to completion.
I get it to now be 771 left of the allocated seating - slowing sales but hopefully when people are allowed to look round the facilities it might convince a few more, as would extending the early bird until December 24th (sure this has happened previously)
It would be interesting to see how many of the unallocated areas, the terraces and family areas have been sold so far too, if they are at 40% that would be another 2900 sales. I'm not sure about the unallocated areas but I would expect the standing to be more than that and wouldn't be surprised if the family area sales are better too.

13-14k I reckon.
No basis at all for those by the way, just gut feel.
