Just checking now, can somebody enlighten me on the rule. When Meli(I think) kicks it down the line only for the full back's feet to be in touch when gathered, because both feet were on the line he is completely off the field of play so should it have been Hull's head and feed?

The ball has bounced and is still in the field of play when the Hull player catches it,correct call was made Saints scrum.

Well played to both teams today.

Lots of errors, contentious refereeing (for both sides) and a great last 10 minutes. A drop goal to win would have been a travesty.

We scored some outstanding tries but Saints response led by James Robey was inspired.

I thought the effort of the players was outstanding, if we cvan maintain that attitude when all of our missing players are back we'll be some team.

I don't even think we were particularly bad in the first half, if anything we forced play a bit much in good positions and although they scored some good tries they were from gifted field position. I expected us to get back into the game although not as soon as we did and perhaps that was a bad thing as they had plenty of time on the clock to get back into the game without panicking and making errors. Eastmond tried hard but was way off with his timing of the pass and a lot of our attacks died when he got the ball - he's either got to get the ball out earlier or attack the line and delay the pass to the link man as he's making it easy for the defence to read the rest of the play.

Credit to the young lads, Magennis got through a lot of work and I like the look of Ashe who seemed very confident in his ability which bodes well.

No. Our first choice half back with his kicking game which was our biggest weakness today imo.

We can bang on all night about forward passes,penalties ,injuries,etc,etc,.Nothing is going to change.As far as I am concerned it was a tremendous match,played in a good spirit.

I posted elsewhere,you Saints fans are quite lucky i.m.o. in that your club always seem to find good players,even if some are injured.You steamrollered us second half,and I feel glad that our lads stuck in there and didn`t crumble under the pressure.

You're right we do seem to have a fantastic production line that can bring in young players to fill a void to some extent. I would like to see a fully fit team at some point this season though.

you and we are seeing the future best playing now.our youngsters can all be proud of their performances thus far.

I think it's the never say die attitude that runs through the club from top to bottom. Some of these young lads prob won't make it saints and maybe even super league level but they have been brought up on this attitude and should take a massive pat on the back.

All these lads are doing the club proud in this injury crisis.

Armstrong went off, think with a broken nose. Gardner also went off but came back on in the second half.

Only one I noticed was Eastmond got some kind of hand injury in the first half, didn't make him leave the field though.

Finger problem, maybe without that problem he wouldn't have knocked on for Armstrong's no try.

He hurt his finger and at one point looked like he wanted to come off.

According to a tweet from the Saints website, TP and Meli are doubtful for Sheffield, but Flannery should return. No mention of Armstrong

Thinking back, I might have seen TP with his arm in a sling which looked like possible shoulder injury. Think he was sat on the bench but he might have returned.

Does it mention what TP has injured?

Once Eastmond decided to pulled it out he was fine.

I would round any of the U20 and U18s not in Fairfield and stick them in against Sheff.

Somebody also needs to take those rollerskates off Ashe and he will be a real find.
