Does this mean we get the name of the stadium today? Would seem rather stupid to hold a press event at an unfurnished stadium that as yet has no name.

I don't know about the press event, but Saints tweeted that the keys have not yet been handed over.

Evidently it didn't happen. One presumes it'll be when they hand the keys over.

It looks as though it's written over the top of the v. The rest of the kit looks pretty identical to the current kit.

Big thick v by the looks of it. Would have much preferred a red band around the middle.

without trawling thro all the posts on this subject,I think the "Knowsley stadium" sounds great,as it will have ties in with the old place & one of our current big sponsors namely Knowsley safari park.i know it will have the stadium bit in it but will we be able to get it with just one name.the stadium bit gets it neatly rounded off imo.

Sorry but the Knowsley Stadium is rubbish. For a start it's not in Knowsley and has nothing to do with Knowsley. There's just no connection between Knowsley and Knowsley Road. [size=50Apart from the word Knowsley obviously[/size

Kit-wise I'd like the single broad red hoop for the home kit and the sky blue & chocolate hoops for the away.

If Typhoo start sponsoring the Challenge Cup would it become the Tea Cup?

How sure is everyone that the stadium will actually get a sponsor. How do you know they won't name it "Saints Stadium/Park/Field", for instance?

It's possible , especially if the right deal isn't available in the current climate.

I'm sure. Given that we have pulled Typhoo out of the bag for our shirt sponsor, I'm sure we have pulled other sponsors out of the bag as well, including for the stadium. Saints are regularly on free to air and Sky TV, and have been in semis and finals every season since 2006. Even though RL is a minority sport, Saints have a big presence within it and sponsors will like that. Once the new season is upon us, the new stadium will be totally finished and will get lots of media attention. I think sponsoring our stadium will be an excellent opportunity for a company of any size, local or national.

Eamon McManus has said that a deal has been done and it will be released in the next couple of weeks. So that pretty much clinched it for me.

Just checking out the Salford fans site , they are obviously looking forward to moving in, as are we, but a user called Starbug, i dont think he is a Salford fan, not too sure , is saying



He is talking about the catering contract for the Salford Stadium and the council getting a chunkof cash for the next 5 years i think it was, but the last line makes me wonder, i dont see how the RLF can offer all those games to Salford when obviously the championships GF are held at the HJ and of course our new stadium is available for the same games,

I wouldn't take much notice of Starbug. He's a Leigh fan with a sizeable chip on his shoulder who spouts a lot of tosh on the whole.

The RFL is going to go to the best bid when it comes to holding anything. There is definitely going to be competition in this area though between us, Leigh, Warrington and Salford. Warrington will have the upper hand not least because they've been holding non league games for a while now and they also know how to market stuff, unlike Saints who are crap at marketing. So Saints are going to have to get their act together if they want to attract non-league matches to the new stadium.

I've been up since 4 waiting for the kit pictures to be released. Get a move on.
