I'm glad to see the back of maguire, and wigan this season.

I can understand you wanting to see the back of Maguire given that he has been successful however I have to say, having spoken with him several times, that he a great bloke. We can debate his tactics till the cows come home but I will certainly defend him as a bloke because he is a real gentleman face to face.

I actually think that the tactics are as much down to that creepy gorrilla of an assistant as Maguire. But Hoffman and Coley are going so thats 3 or 4 less penalties a game next season.

Smith was a real great loser and a gentleman in his speech on Friday night. He did not want to take anything away from the Leeds victory.
Can't see maguire ever raiising himself up from the filth to Smith's level.

So he did a bit of coke. Hardly a performance enhancing drug. Needless to say, he was punished for his actions, and is back in the game. Why did we welcome him back? Because before his 2 year ban, he was a good player, during his 2 year ban, he worked to keep himself fit, and since returning has proved a good player, needs to calm down a bit, but a good player none-the-less.

Maguire might be missed by the Wigoons but certainly not by the rest of SL. he might even be a 'gent' away from the game.
But he has brought a new level of skullduggery with him from Melbourne; along with Finch's petulant arm waving, Lima's 'pole snapping' technique, and Hoffman's cheap shots. Add that to O'Loughlin's, Coley's, Hock's and Tomkins' (J) headhunting and $hithouse behaviour of Tomkins (S), and you really do have a despicable team.

He came across here with a game plan from Melbourne which worked for a while. It wasn't his game plan, and when it didn't work he was incapable of coming up with a plan B. I hope souths know that they are getting a one trick pony coach, and when he's found out, I'd be surprised if he lasts a whole season. Still he can always come back and coach Leigh next season, which will be about his level.

But then you will have Hock back and haven't you supposed to have signed the bloke from Hull. That's two gone to be replaced by two more. As for Maguire he may be nice as a person but I do not like his tactics which many other posters think also.

Good coach and a good bloke, looks after coaches in the area very well, Been invited down quite a few times to see him work. Also spent lots of time with us helping with drills etc. Changed the culture behind the scenes at Wigan so much from Noble who had very little time for the local RL scene

Lima should be copping a ban for the Lomax incident, given his record.
