Kyle wants to leave as Potter accidently knocked his Ribena over during a training session then Kyle went off on a rant because Potter called him Gary to which Kyle replied "Watcha talking about Harry"

On the news they are going on about climate change and the ice packs warming. They should look at the cold front at StHelens RLFC nothing is going to break through that.

good for both sides - Saints can assess him over 2 years to see if he does fill Mr Long's boots and he can then re-assess his own worth if he has made the step up

I think the contract length is OK, but I worry abot the club's ability to afford him in 12-18 months time should he kick on.

Is it not a two year extension?
That would give him in effect a three year deal.

So after all that he has signed a one year extension in effect.

A 3 year deal would have been more sensible to stop the rumour mongering that will certainly continue throught this year.

The lads a Talent even if he not suited to being a 7.

An excellent academy/reserve period. Broke into the first and played consistantly well. Played very well in the seasons big games and Grand Final. Gained selection as first choice halfback for England and played very well.

How's that unproven? He should have a 4 year contract.

The simple fact I say he is unproven is that yes he's played first grade games for Saints but the substantial amount have been either as a sub or in the centres... Yes he is proven playing wise but I still class him as unproven as a week in week out number 7... thats all.

Two year deal is the best thing for the club. If Kyle doesent make it as a scrum half then he will be a waisted talent imo and from what i'veseen of him, he just cant direct a team around the pitch. If he improves he'll sign another deal, if he fails he'll be off!

No point giving him a mega deal over 5 years as this kid hasn't played scrum-half week in week out, this deal gives him chance to prove he's worth more and gives Saints chance to see if he's worth it without getting tied in for a substantial amount of time

His reserve games, occaisional appearances for the first team and his performances for his country are enough indication.

All signings/contract extensions are a risk, but we have to go with our best instincts to ensure we don't lose the country's best talents to Rugby Union.
