I don't agree with the booing at all as it simply isn't helpful and is disresectful after the glory and the entertainment that the team have provided for years and years.

However what was disgraceful again, from a club on the crest of a wave was your woeful travelling attendance. I bet there was 100 of you if that. Shameful, if you can't get your backsides over the pennines to support your team a week before the cup final then it's time to pack in.

Yes I am aware it was a much weakened team but all the more reason to turn up and support them. Especially as 'your kids' nearly did the business and yet again we showed we are badly out of sorts and vulnerable.

to be fair though 8,000 for a team with the success Saints have had is quite frankly an embarrasment too, imagine how the players must feel when year after year they bring trophies back and only 8,000 can be bothered to turn up and watch them.

I'm not slagging your home support on this occasion! I don't think half the population of Huddersfield know there way to the M62.

I didn't expect Hudds to bring many more than they did to be fair. I think the "week before Wembley" point is a very valid one really if people have to chose between a trip to a league game and a trip to watch there team in the cup final its hardly likely to be a tough call for most!

but compare the fortunes of the 2 clubs over the last 30/40 years - there is no comparison.
We also have to compete with a football team with 12,000 fans for people from our town to watch us.
i am as dissapointed as anyone that our away crowds aren't better, i would love to see more giants fans at away games but till we win things it wont happen !!

To be fair to the hudds fans last night, they have a final to pay for and hudds were very honest in saying around 10 first teamers would be out. I can't say i'd have gone to leeds if we were in the same boat.

The only "booing" i'll be doing is at our own fans for booing the team off

The fact is that at least he admits that there away support is poor at best. But considering the year they are having it really should be better. It may not last but it's quite likely that Hudds are here to stay as a top 3/4 side if not better. They have quality personnel and youth and speed in abundance.

I'm going to Leeds away and lets be real we are gonna get spanked unless something amazing happens to our form. That's no excuse not to turn up.

But we'll have most of our players back so it should be a cracker, and we don't have to pay for wembley the week after like hudds fans, just saying i can understand is all.

Everyone has paid the same to get in, they are paying customers and its up to them whether to boo or not. If you don't want to boo, then don't. It's not for you to be lecturing others on what they should be doing.

I could see why people did it yesterday after the dire first half, i didnt boo but there were alot of people to the left who did.

I couldnt think of boo'ing the team after the success ive seen with Saints during the SL era. I would agree with people who say we have been spoilt over the early 2000's and that the teams before this have set an very very high standard of RL and this team seemingly isn't living upto what people expect.

Sad state of affairs what happened last night and has left some people questioning the integrity of RL

Everyone is entitled to their opinion, but it doesn't make it right. What exactly does booing your own team achieve?

It lets the players and coaches know that, as a paying supporter, you are less than impressed with what you are seeing and a kick up the ass is the order of the day. "St Helens supporters demand entertaining rugby" say the press. - but how would anyone know if the fans stood politely and applauded everything that they witnessed? I've booed Saints twice in my time and appaulingly both times were against the pies - but they flaming well deserved it, especially when you're 0-60 down at home! No, it didn't get behind the team, so I suppose on those occasions I wasn't a 'supporter'.

I do take on board however the booing of a team that is top of super league.

Personally I thought it was fairly weak by our standards given the dross being dished up on the pitch. What happened to sit-ins or "Sack the Board...etc?". We've gone soft

I think it's a brilliant excuse not to turn up! I have no stomach for a tonking from Leeds. I won't even be watching it on TV if it's on TV. I'll be in hiding, doing something else entirely so as not to think about our woeful performance and the awful scoreline that is sure to be hitting us.

Unless a miracle occurs in the next fortnight and we suddenly become the team we once were.

I don't agree with booing the team and have never booed saints but if paying fans wish to boo they have every rite.

These players like to walk round pitch to claps and fans chanting there names after a win so should take it on chin when booed. It works both ways.

I've been at old Trafford for our last to defeats and stood up at end to clap the players from the field but last 2 years they have shot down the tunnel with no respect for the fans still there clapping them.

Whenever I'm having a bad day a work, someone coming round pointing it out to me makes things a million times worse. I know I'm having a bad f*cking day! F*ck off.

You could see the effect it had on them as they "applauded" after the match. They were frankly embarrassed to be going through the formality.

I didn't stay to clap this time as frankly I was too piddled off with them but assuming your interpretation of the team reaction is correct, who is to say whether they were embarrassed by the fans' performance or by their own?
