The truth is somewhere in the middle. He is an average prop, who can occasionally allow the blood to rush to his head. He plays with a good amount of aggression and tends to find himself winding opposition fans up.

TBF, I saw very little wrong with the hit on Roby. It was no worse than many a shot put in by Hooper or the King over the years.

Fozzard? I'm not sure, apparently he raises his elbow everytime he takes the ball in, but in a career spanning pretty much the entire of super league, I cannot recall him being sent off, banned or injuring anyone through foul play.

Bailey is a steady SL player who has been a permanent fixture in a very successful era. He has been selected week in week out by Darryl Powell, Tony Smith and Brian McClennan. He gets on with his job and has spent very little time banned. He made an error of judgement back in 2003 when apparently going to help a young lady who was being assaulted over a mobile phone.

As I say, he's a steady SL player. He doesnt break any pots and he doesnt break peoples noses (despite what some would have you believe) but I cannot believe the peopel who castigate Bailey do not castigate Leo Latu when what he did to Brooke pennington was far far worse than Bailey has ever done.

Oh, and Lawrie, I can embarrass you further if you like but I think you've done a good job of it yourself.

His metres per carry are on the increase recently which is why people are seeing him as a more all round player ATM.
