That you were looking tired and wigan looked up for it. It was there for the taking and they blew it.

| Credit where credit is due – Saints showed the best defensive effort I think I seen in a long time – the Pies threw all they had at your lads tonight and they stood up well.
Wigan played some of the best football they’ve played in a long while with the added bonus of Thaler being more than generous towards them, taking the two points at JJB was no mean feat.
Congrats.

| Worst i think we are going to see Saints play all year.
Defence was awsome, in attack we were blunt, un co-ordinated and basically just in the "erm whack it" mode.
Wilkin was great last week, not so good this. Leon is a tough one because he did score the winning try but was very in the background other from that.
The pack was suprisingly dominated i think especially the props. Clough was our MOM without doubt, keeping the ball in the air when the fat man was going over
Wellens had a few dodgy moments but solid as ever. Meli was the better of the wingers. Ade had a shocker unfortunately but did take the ball in well. Solid centres and Arnold, WOOSH. Fantastic son apart from the rushing out
Thats what i thought anyways

| Our goal line defence was good, as was our scrambling defence..missed far too many tackles around halfway for my liking though, and a more clinical team would have punished us for that. Played too much one out rugby in attack IMO, when we used the space we scored. I think we showed the results of the Leeds game tonight.

I like this. This is good. It neatly sums up our attacking style tonight.

| A lot of errors for both sides, but I'm happy for St Helens.
That Roberts lad was very good for the Strike Breakers though. Good kick from the touchline to get that goal from him. Get in there and bid for him.

Hull are hardly going to be fresh as daisies either though, they had a cup game last weekend that went to the wire and their own derby today.

Have to say i agree but at least we're heading in the right direction.
The plans that Ian Lenagan has put in place at the club with the emphesis being on the youngsters will serve us well in the long run. I'm not 100% convinced we have the right coach to take us were we need to go but that will work itself out.
If we take nothing else from the game we can take the fact that we've pushed you close and probably should have won when your lot actually needed the win and were up for the game unlike the last couple of results we've picked up against you in the past 2 seasons.

| Wigan were fired up for it. What they lacked in ability, they made up for in heart. They put in some superb tackles, and at points, made us look as pedestrian as they are.
It says something though (and tm - tl called it the entire match) that all we needed was five minutes of just playing rugby to win the match. As soon as we looked as though we could get a roll on, it was game over for Wigan. They couldn't break us down, which is something I would be worried about if I were them, given all the time and position they had.
Saints will no doubt welcome the week post Hull, to take some time, refresh the legs, and pick up at Cas.

| I have to agree with most of the posts on here.
First of all the ref was appalling. He missed some key forward passes and knock-ons for both teams and gave one ot two strange decisions.
Wigan were in great form in defence, however, they huffed and puffed in attack and I think they might still be trying to score if they were still playing now.
On the other hand Saints were error prone and lackluster in attack, but for a very solid defensive display would have lost the match.
Overall Wigan were the better team and with better finishing could and maybe should have won the game.

Yeah, does remind me of you, that.
Quote 1) Cunningham's try shouldn't have counted, it was a knock-on.'"
In the same way that when Wigan knocked on, they got 6 more tackles?
Quote 2) Wellens lifted Hock's arm, that try SHOULD have counted.'"
I'll type this slowly, its called a tackle, you know, stopping the player from getting through and scoring? Are we not allowed to do that against the Oh So Mightyest Wigan?
Quote 3) The knee was CLEARLY off the ground for Ainscough's second.'"
Like I care, it gave you lot your cup final moment, and you were that crap, we went back up the other end and scored twice.
Quote 4) The better team lost, you were lucky, yet surprisingly you didn't play as dirty as you normally do. I actually can't complain about Pryce or Wilkin, except for the fact that Pryce isn't yet behind bars.'"
Even if Leon is behind bars, he's still got more presence on a RL pitch than Glassjaw.
Quote 5) Wigan vs Saints makes a strong case for still being the top derby.'"
Finally, you make a good point.
Quote 6) You still need to beat us three more times to level your Super League account against us. '"
You still need 4 more leagues, 6 Challenge Cups, 4 Shields and 2 WCCs to level your SL era account with ours
Quote Take this much from me... for once, you won and I can't blame Saints for cheating. The referee/video referee did it all for you, so I'm not going to tirade against the usual dirty players. For once, I'm actually quite happy with Saints performance on the field and I'll let you have this one. But playing by the rules clearly showed there's very little to choose between us. I reckon the end of the season will have us with equal wins and losses against each other provided you carry on playing by the rules.'"
In these dark, recession-dogged times, we all need a laugh
I know I've bitten from a post 3 pages back, but he really is an idiot
