I've not suggested he can't play in the halves but IMO it's a risk. If it turns out he ain't up to it leaves us with two young halves again.

And if memory serves, Wilkin impressed a lot of people in the halves this season. I remember people saying on here just how good he looked there. As somebody in one of the RL papers said, there is a halfback trying to get out of Wilkin. It's why he loves a running game I reckon.

I remember taking a group of teenagers out to a skating rink in Manchester and one of them decided to kick a total stranger in the shin with her ice boot because that stranger had called her a racist name. I had to look at the stranger's shin while I was grovelling in apology on behalf of my now banned young person. There was a big hole into the bone and not a drop of blood. It turned my stomach.

Wilkin is like a old school 13.

That's exactly how my stood mark is. Its gone down to the bone and no blood. It's horrible, if you picture hole in your knuckle with bone showing

I think that would be very potent.
However, so close to the playoffs, I wouldn't expect Royce to be doing any experimenting or resting anyone. He'll want to go into the POs with a settled side.

Pryce and Lomax at 6 and 7 for definite. They need as much time on the field as possible beofre the play offs start. Why play Wheeler and Eastmond there when they won't be our starting halves come playoff time? We're lacking cohesion and need to get our starting halves some game time.

Read off saints twitter that Simmons said he will field a young side. Roby (hand) and Meli (hamstring) will be given the week off, Soliola a doubt also.

So who gets the centre birth? Wheeler or Makinson?
Wheels had it at the beginning of the season, but makinson hasn't let us down and I'd enjoy seeing someone with his pace getting the amount of ball our left centre does.

Wheels at left centre for me, Makinson outside Shenton.

I agree with gaskell playing but would also let wheeler play to see if he is still made out of toast.

Dropped ball-itous started for me when we played quins at home; we were feckin' awful.

Simmons has confirmed Wheeler will play at left centre. Wilkin returns from suspension. No news on Puletua, Eastmond and Flannery so we're to assume they'll not play this weekend.

Gardner is running at 80% and could feature in the play offs.

I mentioned in one of the threads that I'd rest Roby and Meli - two vital players for us whilst giving game time to Wilkin and Graham who have had a few weeks off. Our halves need more game time together and Wheeler needs minutes so it makes sense. Hopefully we'll pick up no further injuries and the trio mentioned above (and possibly Gardner) will return to give us some competition for selection in week one of the Play Offs when our season really kicks off.

It'd be good to see Graham rested too but I don't think our already depleted pack could cope without him and may be worse off going into the play offs.

If it's a genuine enquiry they do. You might not get a reply about the price of cladding though.

Good to hear Makinson got at a touchline conversion too!

Makinson kicked well. What you might not have known, unless you were there, was that the wind was blowing across the ground, and it changed directions. I know this because there was a strong breeze through the North Stand from one side and then sometimes from the other (which was quite weird!) throughout the match. It turned my very miserly portion of chips cold pretty quickly. (Man are London prices a rip off!)

I think he only missed one? I can't remember as during the second half, when we clicked, I was enjoying the match too much!
