| As distasteful as it is to say - it would probably be Shaun Edwards.
Perhaps we should vote for Don Fox

I'd rather they put up a statue of Mussolini, Gaddafi, Hitler, Stalin, Che , Tony Blair, Will Carling, Rob Andrew or even John Inverdale than Shaun Edwards
He was a good player in a great team playing against amateurs/part timers.
Not my cup of tea at all.

| I would like to see a heritage panel appointed to put forward candidates from the games history at Wembley and have an input into the final decision.
I would have either Jim Sullivan, Hanley ,Vollenhoven, Neil Fox,Murphy , Eric Ashton ,or mayb Lance Todd

| Just go for a statue of the first winning captain lifting the trophy at Wembley. I know it's a pie but it's less contentious than somebody more recent with ties to a particular club.

He's already got a statue on the side of the Notre Dame.

Edwards also played teams that contained superstars like Denis Ramsdale, Wayne Elvin, Colin Whitfield, Mick Nanyn, Brian Dunn, Mick Scott, John Pendlebury (you really love him at Saints )etc
He's the most decorated man in RL.
Eleven Wembley appearances and nine winners medals.
Even the most biased Saints fan must concede that he is worth consideration.

He's fairly decorated in RU now too. I can just see the paper headlines now- 'Statue of Rugby Union legend Edwards unveiled'.
I think we're overshadowed enough as it is without giving them an excuse.

| Alex Murphy
Won the CC with Saints
Won the CC with Leigh and won the LT as player/coach
Won the CC with Warrington as player/coach
-
Played for a winning GB side
Unlike Edwards did it for 3 different clubs on a more level playing field with the added pressure in 2 clubs of coaching too.

Those teams also contained plenty part timers. Edwards was fortunate to be part of a top class professional team who spent the best part of decade smashing teams full of part timers hoovering up medals.
If we end up with a pie eater so be it but there are far better choices than Edwards
Jim Sullivan ....

| Edwards?
No. Just......no. No!
Got too many ties to union, we can't unveil a statue to recognise rugby league, of someone currently involved in Rugby union. It would be an awful choice.
No doubt the pie eaters would push that one forward most forcefully. They care only about themselves, and want one of their players recognised. It's always ME ME ME ME ME!
I'd have alex murphy.

Did he never play against Leeds or Widnes?
I'd go for Offiah with his head in his hands after 'that' try or Lance Todd.
