I'll tell you what, for fun we'll take away the championships that Wigan won during the greatest period in our existence, that you no doubt felt were won on an unfair playing field. Even though there was nothing stopping Saints or any other club for that matter from matching Wigan's ambition through those years, well other than their own lack of ambition and vision. That perhaps goes a long to explaining why you won bugger all worth mention during those years.

We have the same number of championship wins. Twelve a piece. That is until I add the other seven that Wigan won, taking us well ahead of Saints. Making us the most successful Rugby League club ever.

You're a bunch of rent boys going cap in hand to a rich Premier League football club taking second billing to some chav's wedding reception. All because of all that "success" you had maxed out all your credit cards buying back then. All our success came in an era of fair competition and a level playing field for all and will eternally mean a million times more than anything that your Uncle Mo bought you chummy.

Were those soulless, empty, meaningless shells of trophies won in a one-sided league of men against boys for a decade worth having to live rough on the streets of Orrell, begging a bed for the night and a cup of tea off the Latics now?

Full time professional rugby did though called Superleague, thats the new standard measurement. Pre Superleague it was a desperation by Wigan once they got out of the second division was to buy, buy, buy. All those memories are confined to a giant metal rugby ball in a supermarket car park. Desperation by Wigan to try and fulfil there fixture scheduling by playing secong fiddle to a football club and a couple of weddings.

Wigan have still a long way to go to match saints in the full time era, thats why Mr Wanes hurts being in the Saints Shadow, Cant catch us for Superleague wins, cant match us for Challenge Cup Wins, Cant match us for League Leaders etc. etc.

Well played to Leeds too. They really took the game to the pies upfront. Peacock was absolutely immense in those opening twenty minutes, really rising to the occasion like the leader that he is. Defensively the pies looked well off the pace to their normal game which is understandable being two props light. That said, Thaler missed a couple of clangers but that's karma for you

Superleague is still in it's infancy in the grand scheme of all things Rugby League.

I don't think "can't catch" is the correct wording. Who's to say in five years time that Wigan won't have overtaken Saints in everyone of those comps. We have after all won three of those trophy's in the last two years compared to Saints...... well zero! So we're certainly heading in the right direction. And for all the success you have had your not really that far ahead. Certainly nothing that a good 3 or 4 years from Wigan couldn't put right.

Unfortunately for you, come next season, you won't have the team to do it!!!

It's just a prime example of why obvious trolls should just get banned no warning and do it sine die like they do on Cherry and White. When I post on other teams boards I try to be polite and even though it is very tempting to get involved in sledging it normally just ruins the threads so it's pointless. Pie eaters are easily offended especially by the truth , I understand they should be allowed to live in their own bubble on cherry and white (very much like Wigoon in real life) but they should'nt be allowed to project there fantasies here

The fact they seem to have a mental block about beating part timers for years (with a load of hollow cup/league wins) is just a prime example, everyone outside Goon land knows real Rugby League took a break in the late 80's and early 90's

Te ball strip was a good call , he meant to do it and he got caught . Tough luck. The knock on was a clear miss and made me chuckle so much

It was absolutely priceless. The Wigan fans can say what they like about getting screwed out of some decisions but after their smugness all season and Shaun Wane's obsessive comments about us in the week, it makes it all the better. Really enjoyed it!

It's actually a good question, for me personally it's because of their fans (and I include that idiotic Ape of a coach in that). They are for the most part the most arrogant conceited bunch of Rugby fans you could ever wish to run into. It's not possible for me to get bored seeing them lose

What hasn't been mentioned, unless it's buried deep in the woeful trolling, was Leeds kicking game. Last night like on many big occasions, it was fantastic, constantly finding space and turning the goons around. It's something that we miss big time. Gaskell is ok, wilkin has the odd good kicking game and roby chimes in with a few 40/20s. But other than that our kicking is sub standard.

Another point that seems to have been overlooked is McDermott. How can he coach such a clueless looking team for the majority of the season only to turn in performances when they matter? Is he a genius, lucky or what? He appears to have tge x factor

They have a group of players who know how to win, and although they seem to have lost some consistency they are still capable of turning in world class performances. They were a good team before McDermott so I wouldn't be giving him much if any credit

It's more likely the case that in these games they ignore coaches instructions to a degree and play using their experience.

Yes, the DW is very nice. Not yours though is it? The City of Manchester Stadium, Wembley, the Nou Camp, Giants' Stadium and Stadium:MK are all lovely stadiums too. You don't own any of them either. Langtree Park isn't as nice as any of those. But it is ours. We own precisely 1 stadium more than you do. Ha.

McDermott must have put yesterday's game plan together, I doubt kev Sinfield just decided to kick Wigan to death.

McDermott has took loads of stick over past two years but his tactics was spot on yesterday.
