As a neutral, I will.
His 'momentum' didn't carry him over the line, he was tackled by Prescott (I think) at least a metre before the line and his elbow hit the deck and therefore the tackle was complete.
He then 'shimmied' using his other hand out of Prescott's grasp and went over the line = double movement.
Watch it again, if it wasn't for the conditions he would have stopped dead a metre from the line, elbow on deck handover.
He carried on moving after his elbow hit the grass.

I thought Pryce offered little threat all night tbh.
Any Saints fan that has a go at Sam Tomkins after tonight is a fool
Any wigan fan that has a go at Eastmond after tonight is a fool aswell.
I said earlier in the week that tonight would be the first of many battles between the 2....................they didn't let me down!
Outstanding.

Who is having a go at Sam Tomkins. His broken field play was brilliant.
However to say he was the MOM the match in my OPINION is drivel. Leon Pryce was a constant threat. He was outstanding, especially in the early and latter stages.

So let me get this straight. a 4 stone wet scrum half with a 15 stone + prop on his back, managed to use one hand to shimmy himself over a meter in one movement?

He has obviously got the same hand strength as Keiron Cunningham. The pitch suffered a broken eye socket and cheek in the incident.

I'd agree actually on Pryce - he's had much much better games but Wigan policed him pretty well. Both Tomkins and Eastmond impressed me alot but I would have expected with the lack of forward power we had Wigan and Tomkins to dominate alot more tbh

The bit you highlighted in bold explains why the try WAS given, he carried on moving in one motion he did not make a second effort with the ball carrying arm.

That is where your arguement ends! I agree if it had been dry he wouldn't have scored, but he slid over due to the conditions!!

1999 Grand final. Henry Paul slid for 10 metres under the sticks after Sonny Nickle tackled him. Verdict = try time.
The conditions play a part in all sports. If it wasent raining Meli wouldent of knocked on.

What are you on about it was a complete sliding moment all the way to the try line. It was a great piece of individual opportunitsm, live with it, and move on.

It wasnt, watch again
Also, re your point about changing the rules and sliding over, RL is an outdoor sport and unlike cricket, tennis etc play isnt stopped because of the rain. Part of its appeal is that you need to adapt to and play to the conditions.

Your right his elbow did hit the floor but he then did not make any further movement of the arm (lift it, rach out etc), his momentum took him over.

You really do no nothing about rugby league. Of course his elbow hits the deck. The rule that you cant have a second attempt, he dident! He beat two men, stepped the fullback and his momentus took him over the line. It's called slidding. Go outside with a rugby ball over your local field and run and slide from 10 metres out, you will slide past the in goal.

| They both looked a threat in broken field and they both have a lot of learning to do when leading a team around a park. That's not a criticism though, and I'm convinced both will learn the tricks of the trade as half backs and go on to be world beaters. Great to see these lads coming through.
