He did a great job of that last season at KR. Didn't you see him? When I saw him do it I commented to the peeps I stand with that that was the first time I'd seen a player in a red vee take opposition on the outside for I couldn't remember how long. He scored a try from it as well.

I'd love to see more of Lomax on the wing. While that might not be his chosen position or his best, he looked good there last season and with Gardner's absence he should get a shot at it. Meanwhile, I'd like to see Wheeler partnered with Eastmond or at the very least given a shot at centre with Soliola (if he's not out injured) put in the second row and Tony P moved to prop.

You don't get to be a SL or NRL GF winner and a WCC winner without having something going for you.

Ricky Bibey won trophies in his time with Saints yet is a truely awful rugbyleague player.

I'm not saying those guys are but just that you can be a poor player in the right place at the right time and win things.

As for them players I don't think many people over here could make a qualified judgment on Hall, Kearney, L'Estrange etc because we've seen very little of them. I fancy Bradford to do better then last year by the way but your outside backs will again hold you back.

I think that's fair comment, but any players who could get in the Manly starting 17 in 2008 must have something quality about them. Manly were awesome in 2008, mainly down to Orford's links with the two hookers, not just Matt Balin.

With that in mind, I'd like to see :

Id start with Fozz and Puletua on the bench for impact. Other than that id go along with that team.
If Potter picks Flannery at centre I might go into hibernation for a few months.

If Flannery plays centre I will join you in hibernation. Plus, that would leave Wheeler on the wing where he can't make an impact, he needs to be at centre or preferably stand-off where he is involved in the game.

Dave Hadfield today reports that Soliola is out "for at least a month".

Hope not, we've only partially seen him for 35 minutes.
