| Talking to one of the ladies at Saints last night, she was saying that they are going to lower the price of alcohol before the game to get people to drink there, rather than going the pub, put the prices up during the game, then lower them again to get people to stay after the match to have a drink. At the 19 kiosks that sell beverages and food, they are gonna sell, pizzas, wraps, pies etc.

that's a good idea in principle, but pretty hard to do in practice.

| Lovely. It's totally enclosed so the atmosphere will be great.
A few issues with the video:
- RU book on prominent display
- an 'actor' doing 'hand gun' movements
- Kells Bar. Are we groundsharing with Cumbrians?

| Right - i'm confused.
Are we spending ALL of next season at Widnes? It says 'moving into our new home in Autumn 2011' - does this mean immediately after the season has been completed in October? It seems silly to play a playoff match or two in 2011 there.

wouldnt have thought so. 2 options:
- have 1 sign with 2 prices on, then have a till with 2 options on - relying on the staff to make decisions.
- or go high tech, an electronic sign that changes automatically at a given time, same with tills.
I imagine the biggest problem would be licensing laws and having people buying 20 pints before kick off to last them the whole game.

Retailers these days have electronic tills that download price information from servers, if Saints have something similar, then its merely a case of having the server update the pricing at specified times via a download to the tills.
If this is the case however im half expecting saints to get mixed up between GMT and BST on the clocks.
I say this as ive known similar things to happen with far bigger companies with sometimes quite embarrassing results.

| Is it not likely that there will be bars with entry from outside and the bars inside the ground will be more expensive?

Well there is only one external bar the "sports cafe bar" all the rest are in the ground.
Saints want to encourage people in early so they spend as much cash as possible on foor and drink.
I also expect the corporate areas will be a touch more expensive than in the west or north stand bar areas.

| On the point of there being no pubs in the vicinity of the new ground, as an ex-industrial epicentre, historically the locality of the site would have surely been chocker with them.

The pubs that did exist down Peasley cross lane have long since gone.
There is a Conservative club near the old st.Helens Hospital site and i think there is a Northern Soul club on Sutton road.
Going further afield, Robins lane isnt that far away. Probably a 20-30 minute walk. So Bowling green is a possibility.
Queens arms on higher Parr street.
The Ramford on Ramford street, though it would be a bit of a round the houses trek to get to the ground
