I think this is more a case of the NRL having a personal grudge with Lyon. I very much doubt that such draconian rules would be applied to other players.

If he doesn't want to play rep football then that should be the end of it. Banning him from club rugby is utterly ridiculous.

Its not a decision i would make, playing for your country is an honour, but whatever his reasons, it is his choice and the nrl should respect that. Its not like he's their only star and they will suddenly be rubbish without him.

Family comes first for Jamie and it's about time the bigwigs in Australia respected that, some things are much more important than Rugby League. Like it or not, rugby league is a job for him. He's never hidden that fact. It may be the proudest honour a player can recieve, but not for Jamie. Can he not just retire?

Surely its upto the player when they choose to retire from representive honours. No player should be forced to play if they do not want to, however, i can not understand how anyone can turn there nose up at playing for county or country. Obviously if they have been playing at that level for years then i can understand, but he hasn't.

Hopefully, this is a better sign for us, might force him away from the NRL.

It is daft, its not like Austrailia are desperate for good players. The ARL putting their footdown. Stupid really if he doesnt want to be there they are hardley goingto get the best out of him.
