| Quote ="SaintsFan"I walked over that bridge with the rest of humanity on Friday night and there was no crush, no struggle, nothing like that at all. The crush was down the side of Tesco, something the club is discussing with Tesco. We were all moving very nicely over the bridge. The bridge was built for the purpose of moving thousands of fans from the site to the town centre. That is its purpose. It is still there today. It didn't collapse!
The only work being done on the bridge is the addition of fencing on either end so as to avoid people taking a nosedive down the slopes on either side. That is sensible because although the bridge area is well lit, people could slip and so some form of fencing to guide people away from the edges makes perfect sense.'"
As did I Saintsfan, along with some few thousand others that had been at the game, and the problem like you said was down the side of Tesco and the fact a few sad people were looking in the Tesco Staff Room on the way out!!!

| The only issue with the bridge is that there is no fencing up the embankment at the side of Tesco. If that started earlier the funnelling of people would start earlier and there'd be no issue.
The LEDs are most likely the most energy efficient lighting available, I doubt that the different colours cost more.
The wetness of the concourses is an issue, but hopefully the cladding will sort that out and in summer I'm almost certain that the wide, airy concourses will be much more pleasant to have a beer and a chat in than the small concourses at the DW, HJ and Salford.
I've met RG, I like RG, but I do wonder why some of you bite at every jibe he makes. I'm looking at you Mr Futtock ![Wink icon_wink.gif](//www.rlfans.com/images/smilies//icon_wink.gif)

| Quote ="Rogues Gallery"Hmm
The DW caters safely for more fans than your new stadium ever will, and the bridge on the South East corner is wider that the Saints Bridge. The concourses are dry, as were the ones at Salford last night although the view there isn't particularly good from the North Stand as the terracing is shallow.
As I come from an engineering background I prefer something that works efficiently to something that looks pretty.
It would have been better to have a wider bridge initially, I'm not saying to change it now. The council and Saints have advised people to park in the town centre car parks, so the bridge is the way most people will go.
SaintsFan has probably got it right in that there needs to be some sort of wall/fencing before the bridge to stop someone falling down the embankment.
hth'"
I haven't the time or energy to enter into a debate about whether "your bridge is bigger than ours" but if the bridge your referring to is the one going over the canal then I can't see how that is any more efficient than the linkway one. I've been stuck in log jams for both rugby and football many a time and thankfully there's been no one injured on the steps going up and down. Also it's a potential flash point probably more so for football especially when you've got Liverpool fans chanting "you're just a town full of inbreds" at that very bottleneck.

Trolling about our fantastic bridge, poor even by your standards. Especially ironic when you consider the tiny bridge outside the DW which goes over the canal.

| I'm not sure which thread to post this on but as nobody is taking any photos of the stadium at present I thought here would be the most likely.
[url=http://www.sthelensstar.co.uk/news/9494481.Saints_say_they_will_sort_stadium____niggles___/The Star has written a piece on feedback from last Friday[/url which clarifies everything I think.

| Does anybody know if the Cunningham statue and Langtree sign just above is lit up permanently at night outside of match evenings. This is for a planned photo shoot.

| Mrs G , Wirral Saint myself and Wirral Saint junior went on the stadium tour this afternoon and it was superb , the guide was helpful informative very patient with all the people dawdling at the back , and the meal at the end was magnificent well worth £15 ,
first thing we saw was this magnificent crest behind the reception desk
we then went to the academy changing rooms I had not realised we had 4 changing rooms, the guide said that under no circumstances were the academy players allowed in the first team dressing room, (unless they are playing with the first team of course) to give them an incentive and push them harder to make it
still very nicely appointed though
and of course the first team changing room with warm up area
we made our way through the tunnel to pitchside
i tol Wirral Saint he had a long wait for the next match but he wouldnt listen
walking round the concourse we noticed these TV`s mounted strangely on the wall the guide told us its because they will be split in two with the top portion showing ads and the bottom showing the game
everyone was well impressed with the murals around the concourse
Voll
Scully
Alan Prescott
Newlove
Harry Pinner
Karalius
we then went upstairs to the function rooms , well they are superb
one other i must mention is Alf Ellaby
I for one never knew his ashes were scattered at KR
on the walls up the stairs are the some spectacular pictures and in the lounges near the function rooms
and finally LUNCH!!!
and very yummy it was , I had pork with crackling Mrs G had Chicken , boiled spuds carrots peas and cabbage and for afters sticky toffee pudding with custard terrific food and a superb day , oh one more thing , I had not heard of this but our guide told us some poor guy has a heart attack during the Widnes match and is still in intensive care , I am sure we wish him well and a spedy recovery but the amazing thing is that it took 15 minutes between him having the attack and him being in an ambulance on the way to Whiston, so well done to the St Johns and all who helped

The railway companies wont sell the land because it links shaw street station ( St Helens Central ) to St Helens Junction.

| Not really is it, 75% talking about losing the GF and and awful interview with James roby and 25% of the same shots or shots of Eamonn.
I would have taken the cameras around the stadium and done loads of different shots of the place, didn't seem like much effort. Perhaps i'm being too harsh.

I agree, although i always watch the SL interviews and i've even subscribed to that channel on YT i do find them very amateur, there's one interviewer who sounds like a young lad, i watched the Oz and Kiwi interviews he was doing at the airport in the 4N, he asked all the same question but to different guys and seeing as most sportsmen are renta quotes it was just dull.

Shenton is probabaly the Saints player who can string together the most words in a sentence without an "ermmmm" or a "Y'know". Wilkin likes to think of himelf as a media man, but can't see him putting Clarkey out of a job just yet. Mind you, Sky have employed the rat, so there is hope for anyone.
