But it isn't fair that he was exposed like that. It was his debut. He shouldn't have been playing a debut when we had so many senior players missing. It's a real shame he dropped the ball after the work he did to get so close but then they were all dropping the ball. They seem to be good at it!

So what we still have brought them through the ranks and spent the time and money to develop them.
We also have some local lads in the academy who look very promising.

ONE of our youngsters is on loan from elsewhere and, as a Wiganer, I'm sure he will have enjoyed tonight's victory even more than most.

Don't know why certain people on here have to hype them up so much to be next big thing. Let them just develop and see how they go.

Sure enough wheeler, eastmond and ashurst are doing ok but it's early days.

I think the difference between the crop of players you mention and the Tyrer situation was that Tyrer was hyped for some time BEFORE he played in the first team. It wasn't until he played in the first team that we saw the flaws in his game. The current crop are getting 'bigged' up by many on here because SINCE they've made the step up into the team they have proved themselves at least capable if not more than that.

Some people 'Hype' them as much as they do because they believe in the talent they have shown already and in some cases have been told by people at the club (who you could consider experts on the subject) that they are likely to make it at Saints.

If you check back there were very few people who had seen Tyrer play that thought he would be 'the next Lyon' in fact some people, like Rogues i think, said his success at academy level came from the fact that he had developed physically faster than most and was therefore bigger/faster/stronger.

Having said all that the chinese whisper nature of internet message boards and communities of people (such as sports fans) in general can often lead to people jumping on bandwagons.

Quite right, anyone who has played the game has dropped a ball under "pressure". Very few of us could even imagine the pressure of a debut for the first team of saints. My hand would sweat so much i couldn't tie my boots!

At the time I actually thought the pass was forward to him and that if it was possibly passed back he would have gone all the way.....

I also thought that our second try was a forward pass by Wilshere but others have said it went back so I'm willing to accept that

jjust seen super league show on iplayer and the apprent double movement no-try was wrong decision imo especially as it didnt look at all double movement in full speed, strange decision imo which could have changed the match taking nothing away from salford though
