Although Salford look a good side on paper I don't think they are firing on all cylinders yet. Our defence looks more solid than last season and this should be where we win the game, saints backline looks more settled and productive to score points.

Turners and greenwood side is a worry, they missed 4 each last week and surly salford will target them.

Flanagan in for Jones and Thompson in for Hohaia

Glad to see Flanagan in for Jones who offers nothing at all in attack. No doubting his defensive effort but goes nowhere going forward.

I'm sorry - have I missed the two dozen back row forwards who are as physically developed as Jones whilst younger and better in the backs?

In my eyes Jones is going down the pecking order, Thompson - Greenwood - Sav are more dangerous to the oppostion. Hopefully most of the season will be Percival and Turner in the centres with Lance covering the backs and at hooker.

Its difficult to cherry pick on negative stats as we don't know the outcome on the game, it was Amor and Walmsley this week both of them missed 3 tackles each and had less game time than Greenwood and Turner.

Jones hasn't fleshed out yet. Which is frightening when you consider how big he is right now. Irrespective of his general game at the end of last season he was poleaxing just about every player he crash tackled. The kid is a monster.

Most players flesh out somewhere between age 23 and 24. Which means Jones will almost certainly grow considerably larger.

I think far too many people are being overly critical. If anything he's a victim of his unusual physique. He LOOKS like a fully developed player. But he isn't (both mentally and physically).

I know I wouldn't like to receive a hospital pass with him standing in front of me.
