He'll be on something close to that next year but with nice appearance bonuses added on.

I agree we could look really good again for next year but I think another 2nd rower is needed. Having a proper 6 and 7 is almost unheard of for us and it's makes us instantly more dangerous to opposition sides.

Wouldn't surprise me if he makes every game next year - if a move of clubs doesn't do it for him I don't know what will!
If we can have everything announced now that'd be great, all the none-speculation and silence is deafening!
Also, to get back on topic, the article that started this from hdm didn't actually say anything the league express didn't 3 weeks ago!

We are at present rebuilding the squad to get back to where we think we deserve to be. We're not there yet but we finished top. You didn't make the 8. My comment was merely a dose of reality.
See you next season with what I am certain will be a far different result.

Have you looked at your record at Craven Park in the 9 years we have been in Super League? You had some of your better teams in that period. No dose of reality needed. KR fans are only too aware of our present situation. I was only commenting on what I saw of Burns after watching him every week home and away. However if making snide remarks makes you happy.....

Sounds great, but you've got to include Wellens in the 17. This season has proven beyond doubt that he'll never be dropped, he'll play every game he's fit for. Wherever you put him, it weakens things considerably.

You should be an expert on cr&p half backs being a duller, burns is quality, you would have loved to have a good 100% half back like burns, still you've got pryce and his zimmer, your club is like a rest home for ageing players.

your right about him being competitive and if he can get the rest of the team feeling the same you should be ok, but personally I don't think his running or kicking game is that good. tends to run down a lot of blind alleys and always finds the fb with his kicks, in a better team he could really flourish though. I guess we'll see next season.
good luck to him.

Please enlighten me as to which remarks were 'Snide'. I merely think it is very hard for a player to perform to his best every week without help from his team mates. His drop off in form was probably when he realised he was the only player trying to win every week. It also could have something to do with knowing he was leaving.
At Saints he won't be expected to carry the team every week, he may be asked to carry that burden occasionally but most of the time he will be part of a structure ( one spoke on the wheel as it were).

You say that we are not at the cap but you have absolutely no way of knowing that.
Its not a simple case of looking at the outs and ins.
Many of the younger players have had their contracts upgraded and that also needs to be factored in.
Alex W has been playing under an academy contract so he for one will have been given a big hike.
Unless you are on the senior club staff not sure how you could declare whether there is any wiggle room in the cap.

I wouldn't argue this point too hard if I were you ... Quantitive analysis is designed for basically this purpose... Made easier by the fact it's basically a zero sum game. Also kid upgrades only count if it takes them into the top 25 earners at the club...
Wheelers contract and cloughs contract = increases to Percival, Thompson and Richards contract who signed Midseason (plus change if there's a run over on any of the others)
Soliolas contract = Vea's contract + increase in Amors contract.
Laffranchis contract = Burns contract + increase Walmsleys contract
Manus contract = ???? (Hock?)
I'd have a basic guess at. We have room for another quality forward. Which we also know from what Brown said a few weeks ago...

guessing with maths - everyone knows guessing is totally reliable when numbers are involved! I don't know what pay structures Saints build their models on, so I can't definitively say that those will be the match ups, but they seem to work
Guessing or not, it is in line with what we've been told, which is the best indicator that were not done with Burns

Snide according to the dictionary is supercilious, sneering, expressive of contempt.
"In your team Cooper Cronk and Johnathon Thurston would look bang average."
Your statement fits the definition very well. Your comments on 18th September don't help your cause either. Why give me your idea of a dose of reality? I realise exactly where my team is. The fact remains the Burns has played a good half season out of two. His first season was average. His second consisted of two halves good and again average. I do not claim to know why he has performed like this. He may or may not perform consistently better for you only time will tell. We rescued his career and he repaid us by giving us half a season. Do you actually want a player like that, who chooses when to give of his best? All this of course assumes he is actually going to cross the Pennines.
