From the little I know of charnock, he sounds like the star player who does a bit of everything in the kids teams as he was better than the others at everything (for instance, he was touted as a loose forward when signed, when in fact he was a fullback/standoff that apparently moved to the pack if the going got tough). That would imply that he''l have been given kicking duties in the past - whether he's a good enough to do it tomorrow is another matter.
In these situations, we [ishould[/i be beasting the london pack so much that he can play and kick in an armchair, unfortunatley, London will have a sniff of blood with us being so at the moment and fancy taking a decent scalp.

On people asking about Charnock, he kicks goals for the u19s and usually kicks well. Out of hand he's usually decent but didnt get much of a chance to show v salford

About what? I'd rather have Charnock and Ashe than Wellens and Howarth, and I like Greenwood offers more than Clough does.

For the most part it actually looks like players will be playing in their natural position so I'm quite pleased with the team considering the absences. Kicking game will be a bit of a worry but when has it not been recently?

Whatever team you put out it should be enough to beat a team that's yet to win a home game in the league this season!

about clough. For a start clough plays prop, greenwood second row. For seconds Clough shouldnt be dropped out of a squad that sometimes lacks someone to roll their sleeves up (bar sia)

With Greenwood, we'd still have LMS, Puletua, Walmsley and Laffranchi to play prop. I don't Greenwood deserves to be dropped either, and in my opinion, contributes more than Clough does.

I'd agree ,Clough is solid and probably deserves a shirt ahead of LMS at the moment but I like Greenwood and he looks a threat (to the opposition unlike some) with ball in hand

Clough's a better prop than laffranchi, at least going forward. Boof gets the odd big tackle in, but I'd take Clough first for the yards.

I'd have him and TP as starting props and rotate them with LMS and Walmsley. Boof then plays in the 2nd row, either from the start or off the bench, and you've got a pretty strong pack IMO.

I rate clough, i don't think he gets the credit he deserves for winning hard yards against good packs, even when the rest of the pack are slacking. My only reservation about him is whether his contribution in defence is dominant enough. No problem making the tackle, but in a battle for yards and speed at the ruck, can he dominate the opposition forwards enough?

As Mike Appleton so rightly said on the radio, if Ashe had had more first team experience he may have had more success with his kicks, etc. Why Brown didn't blood the young halves we do have rather than stick Wello with Wilkin I do not know, but that he did is putting more pressure upon us.
