| Are the u20's receiving a hiding this season? I have to say I don't follow it much, but when I've seen results they seem to have lost?

Yes, they are receiving a hiding this season. But they've had three players out on long term injury (I think it's three) plus a number having to be shunted up to the first team, only to then be out injured. They have been playing u18s in the u20s recently, which in turn has impacted the u18s.
I think our u18s beat Hull, didn't they? No, they didn't. Have just checked on the Hull board. Not a surprise they lost, no, given the above. But apparently our u18s are looking good this season.

The U18's lost, see my post above.
But to answer my own question, I guess a lot of the better U18's were playing in the U20's.

| Yeah I had noticed the u18's were picking up a few ones, so hopefully we've got some good ones coming through there. How was Forster going before his injury?

| It's always difficult with the younger age groups as some mature a lot earlier than others.
Brett Robinson in the space of a year played for England U15, U16 and U18. He was very highly thought of. Played for Wigan at U18 level and IMO believed his own hype.
He left Wigan for Widnes, and they believed they had signed future star.
The last I heard he was back playing amateur rugby.
At Saints I would say Ste Tyrer is another example.

The point being, Big things were expected of Tyrer when he first broke through. However on being exposed to the 1st team this wasn't the case.

| The U20's and U18's are feeling the effect of the First Team injuries. Todays U20 had several key players missing because of Call ups and injuries.
Our U18's are a good bunch and some First Team players will come from our current crop. There is quite a number of 16 year olds playing for our U18's at the minute. They batterd Wigan and have lost twice to both Hull teams by a close scorelines. The half backs are changing each week because the First team are having a mare on the injury front.
Take Danny Yates for example he is our U18 scrum half who as only just turned 17. He is a fabulous player but at the minute he's playing U20 rugby league.
Things will come good for our U18's but lets use this thread for our Scholarship squads.

www.bradfordbulls.co.uk/news/5274/ACADEMY%20LOSE
The U/16's managed to put an awesome 2nd half together after an indifferent 1st half where they conceded four tries down their right flank, but gave too much pssession away as well and basically had no ball or field position. Their 2nd half, things came together & they put on 30 unanswered points until Wire had a late rally which made the score look closer than it felt after such a dominant 2nd period. I was pleased with my own lad's performance and to answer the question earlier, William Milner isn't related to the Milner brother, one at Cas & one at Hudds who they loaned out to Barrow a few weeks ago. Zak Derhurst started on the bench for Wire and I.M.O. the best Wire players were the hooker ( Ryan, didn't catch his last name ) and Milner and the goal kicking centre.
The under 15's of Bradford seemed to be in control of their game for long periods in all honesty and didn't look like losing.

| Wigan beat Crusaders easily at U15 and U16 level scoring over 50 points in both games, but watch out for the U15 Crusaders left wing. He scored a fabulous wingers try from 60 metres out beating several Wigan players with real pace .
Well worth looking out for.
They also have a right winger in the U16's who is vary fast (a dark skinned lad) you can't miss him.
Mods if you think that appears racist (it isn't meant to be) please feel free to change the wording.

Was at this game myself and watched the 2 that followed and can say how impressed i was with most of the Saints youngsters. I agree Ollie Davies, Joe Ryan and Tom Calland all led from the front and thought that Adam Saunders had an great game at Full Back. I have watched most of the U15's since they were U7's all be it at different times due to my son playing. I would just like to point out that Dave Hewitt is a class act and any team would miss his ball handling skills and kicking game, but he has played most of his rugby at stand off for the last 12/18 months and not Full Back. Great team performance though and the future looks bright for Saint...keep up the good work boys..!!!

| Both teams won, however the U15's struggled. 2 new players have been signed this week in Dan Abram (Sale) and Will Weir (Warrington).
Our U16's won 50 - 4 following on from their 48-0 win last week.
Ill write the reports soon.

| Ill do the U15 later as i'm confused about the scoreline was a very sloppy game.
St Helens U16 50 - 4 Crusaders U16
1. Ben Roberts
2. Olly Yates
3. Matthew Gee
4. Ben Parry
5. Danny Carney
6. Chris Carr
7. Jordan Heaton
8. Jonny Griffiths
9. Tom Roughley
10. Greg Richards
11. Mathew Wood
12. Luke Thompson
13. Andre Savelio
14. Jack White
15. Jack Grice
16. Mike Scott
17. Jamie Martlew
18. Matthew Fozzard
Try Scorers - Savelio 2, Thompson 2, Yates, Carr, Heaton, Scott, Fozzard
Goals - Carr 3, Roughley 2, Heaton, Fozzard
M.O.M - Luke Thompson
Saints forwards absolutely batterd the Crusaders in both defence and attack. Luke Thompson was awesome, he is a massive unit who runs good lines and is extremly fast for the lads size. Andre Savelio was his usual destructive self with the ball and the half back pairing of Heaton and Carr did well. Was also very impressed with Matty Gee who played for the first time at this level. Saints where missing the very talented duo of Lewis Galbraith and Lewis Charnock because of injury.
Excellent win lads.
