Nothing on the RFL's site yet though. I'd rather wait for them to give an official report before believing what The Sun writes on Twitter (which it appears is where this came from, if the goon board is anything to believe).

Do you think the RFL have grown muscles, teeth and balls in the off season? I sincerely hope so although I anticipate everyone will appeal and the whole thing will turn into a mass of warning letters.

When it's St Helens, ANYONE can call them salary cap cheats. Thing is, Melbourne didn't get away with it, so far Saints still have. Was it 6 breaches in total to Wigan and Bradford's 4? Yup, I think it was, and one of Wigan's wasn't even a real breach. But that's an old story and done to death.

Because he deserved a two match ban for two tackles considered to be dangerous. So I think it would be great if any appeal failed.

You thought the tackle on Wilkin was worthy of a 1 game ban?
Even if it was it would never of been reviewed if Wilkin hadn't complained to Silverwood.

Yes. It was clear from the Sky footage that Lima was working Wilkin's arm in the tackle. I didn't see the one on Soliola but that was worse, apparently. The man has clearly played dirty and he deserves to be punished for it. He and others like him (regardless of team) will get the message that dirty play won't be tolerated. That's assuming the RFL stick to their decision, obviously. They don't usually but they may have changed by some miracle.

I've watched it 4 times and he is working the arm but if were giving 2 games for that then were either going to have to change the whole arm wrestling work or were going to see alot of players banned.

I didn't know there was a rule saying I had to! I replied to your question, which seems like a logical thing to do.

As to the rest of your post, since you would like me to reply to it (for some reason), the RFL review all matches whether there has been any report made or action taken by the ref or not. So it is perfectly likely that the RFL would have spotted the tackles all by themselves. I'm told they are grown ups!

I didn't know that soccer fans politely spoke to the ref, having followed due process by asking to put forward a formal complaint in front of the captain of the opposition team but if you say it was soccer like then so be it. I'm all for players wanting to protect other players from unnecessary dangerous play. Good on Wilkin. The man has balls.

The ban was for that and for a worse tackle on Soliola. So that was two dangerous tackles by the same player in the same match. Casts a different light on things, wouldn't you say?
