It won't be any easy game, at this point there is no such thing as an easy game.

But I don't understand why people are complaining that Saints have picked hudds. It was a choice between playing the team who was in 1st place or the team in 5th place after the regular season - surely the only logical choice was to go for the team who had finished 5th thus giving us a slightly better chance of winning.

Any sentimentality about the last game has to go out the window, the important thing is the get to Old Trafford.

Saints made it clear that, if given the choice, they'd go for the lowest ranking team. Least exciting 5 minutes of TV since any 5 minutes of X Factor.

Wiganers (who would have breathed a collective sigh of relief when they heard the pick, whatever the bravado on show here) and Nathan Brown (additional motivation is always handy) are trying to claim there's some other factor behind the pick, but Saints have been explicit on this from day one.

Certainly won't be an easy game, though. A genuine banana skin, but I think the fact that it's the old girls final song will give us enough to sneak home.

I think the poster meant "easier game" rather than easy game, Saints had to make the choice to give them the best chance of silverware, last night proved it will be anything but easy but the team who topped the table or team who finished 5th?

It was the sensible choice for me Hudds looked very tired in that second half last night (nearly blew a 23-0 lead) and they will have to back it up with a days less rest than Wigan, while the Pies had a light work out (after the first half) and the animosity between them and Leeds should lead to a very demanding physical game with every chance of it kicking off, especially if Bailey is fit...

As for the topic in general to me it seems some Wigan fans are more worried about going to Leeds than anything else, can't see why else they'd want to play us and risk losing their bragging rights they are so keen to cherish!

Club call is nothing more than a gimmick. I can't see any real bonus for the side who makes the choice, all it does is give the team they pick more incentive (if it is needed) to win. Surely any club is going to pick the lowest ranked side left in the competition and make it clear that is why they are making the choice!

Our Chairman made it clear last year that Saints would choose the lowest ranked team if we had club call and he's followed that through.

Hudds knocked us out of the Challenge Cup last year. I sincerely hope our lads will be aware of the threat they pose and will not treat Friday night as they have treated other games which have not involved Wigan, Wire or Leeds this season.

I would say Hudds is a potential banana skin, more so than Wigan would've been for me.
