| Excellent starting frontrow, but outside of that it is in my opinion a pretty skinny squad where the packs concerned.
As for this "best pack in the league" come on, yes it's probably the best frontrow, but backrow wise it's pretty poor. Nothing but grafters, no flair no attack only Puletua offers something different.
Just for comparisons sake Wigan will be going with something like:
Fielden, Leuluai, Coley
Hoffman, Tomkins
O'Loughlin
Lima
Mossop
Prescott
O'Carrol
Hansen
Farrel
Tuson
Davies
Hock
Plenty of depth in the squad above.

Well, I guess we'll see next year
What's the deal with you and Hock? Is he definately playing for you next year?

Wilkin offers no attack from the back row? He has more busts and clean breaks and only one less try than SOL despite having played 8 fewer games. Their assists per game are pretty similar too.
We'll have the best front row, one of the best back rows and an excellent bench - sounds like the makings of the best pack in SL to me.

I believe so. From those who know him personally he's supposedly got 5 year deal waiting for him as soon as his bans up. Any other rumors flying about are nonsense.
Should be some cracking games between us and you next year. They've been pretty good this year to be fair.
I must say, and all Wigan fan's will agree on this, it's nice to be back.

Well it's purely subjective, and I disagree. Best frontrow in the league I agree with. One of the best backrows? I'd say the the third best. But that's not to hard to do when realistically there's only 4 teams in the comp capable of winning anything.
Best bench? You used to have, and that's what made Saints the best side in the comp for many years. You'd bring players on from the bench who wouldn't let in the intensity drop. But that's now not the case anymore.
You've got a good pack. But is is better than everyone else's? No!
Is better in some respects than other sides packs? Yes!

In your opinion.
I wouldn't swap our pack for anybody else's, that's for sure.

Of course in my opinion. Everyone on here is voicing their own opinion's, some louder than others.
But in the end what I, you or anyone else thinks doesn't really matter. We'll find out soon enough who has the best pack in the comp.

| We certainly will have a pack to be reckoned with. It'll be interesting when it goes head on with Warrington's. One thing about having our strongest front row since 2006 is that our lighter back rowers will have a bit more room to play a bit - Wilkin and Flannery (if he stays) should thrive. Add to that the destructive defence of Soliola and I think it's fair to say we're in with a very serious shout next year.

Indeed. But next year I think there may be an air of expectation rather than hope.

| emmitt is only talk of going on loan as he is contracted til 2012, but we should of kept bryn as hes a good solid player who never lets yuo down and always gives 100%, glad we have LMS but prefer bryn to him, even better we should of had both

| I'm undecided on Bryn. He made a beautiful offload for a try against Crusaders and I'm sure there have been other occasions when he has done the same thing but they've gone unnoticed. However, whether he should have developed further by now in that and other aspects of his game is hard to tell. That he works hard each and every match is without doubt. However, working hard and being considered 'good enough for Saints' are two different things I guess. Every team needs its hard workers, though, and I wonder if we are wise to let him go given our injuries of the last two seasons. However, we may have had no choice. Given that his contract was due for renewal he may well have wanted to leave.
We won't have any Wiganers in our team now, will we? That's an advantage anyway.

| I think you have to consider his yardage stats. For a good deal of his career he's achieved a net loss of 1-2 yards relative to the forwards playing at our closest rivals. 1 or 2 yards doesn't sound too bad, but given the sketchy distances we've been hitting on deep kicks for yardage over the last few years the numbers start to add up.
Long, for instance, was never a great yardage kicker and against sides with good kicking games (and good packs) we were often playing at a ten-or-more yard deficit per set. Which was bad enough without the cumulative effect of Hargreaves' handicap.
