| Quote ="The Brother"After watching your game on Friday and having watched us get hammered at Wigan a few weeks ago got to say wigan tactics at the ptb are a disgrace, that is not what rugby league is about tbh thought thaler was shocking against you guys and kept you firmly on the back foot in the 1st half and to keep penalising you for hand on the ball when wigan was at it every tackle was very poor
I wont be watching many games involving wigan with those tatics as it just infuriates me
Good luck rest of season'"

| Quote ="SaintsFan"Mmm. They did brilliantly yesterday. Two tries for the whole of the match. Had you not been gifted penalty kicks by our kindly players, we would have nilled you in the second half. That's an astounding attack!
Oh, and had we not been so stupid with ball in hand, we would have scored when Meli went over the line (forward pass) and when Puletua did (no ball at all since he didn't catch it). That's twice more than you that we actually got over your line but we botched both attempts. And you had 13 men on the pitch on both occasions. That's how astounding your defence was (ie, no better than ours).
You should be thanking Saints that they couldn't get a decent bit of composure together for the whole match!'"
Iv read some bitter posts in my time, but that one takes some beating, well done. Read it in the papers, 18-10.

Oh, totally. This is all just post-match discussion and what have you. Until the next match comes along with its attendant post-match discussion and what have you.
But I'd like to know whether Thaler has been told off for not sin binning your fullback for his professional foul against Wilkin.

| Quote ="rammsteinbloke"The slow PTB is a way of preventing fast, attacking and entertaining rugby - which is why many feel the game has become boring over the past few seasons. We all fell in love with the sport because of its fast, attacking style of play - and I know a lot of people getting disillusioned because of this. Huddersfield did it a lot last season, and they enjoyed their most successful season since Super Leagues inception. Wigan are doing it this year, and currently top the table.
Wigan are not breaking the rules, they are just adapting their style of play to the change in rules. Sure, its very ugly to watch, makes their plays boring, irritates opposition players and fans, but its effective.
We all want the rules changing as to eliminate these tedious slow PTBs, not to eradicate Wigans successful tactics, purely to restore the entertaining rugby which we all originially fell in love with.'"

Correct, and Roberts should never have been sin binned. Pryce dummied the tap twice and then tapped it. Roberts then made the tackle.
I agree with Mugwump that we were on a warning and the next penalty in all probability would have been a binning, but you can't pre judge and bin someone for a non offence.

Correct, I genuinly think Roberts thought he could make the tackle, it certainly wasn't a professional foul, just a misunderstanding.

| am i right in thinking that all superleague coaches meet up with cummmings pre season to discuss any changes to the rules of the game,i know it has happened in previous seasons.it brings me to say one thing all coaches know what the rules are and if some coaches are to short sighted not to coach the rules to the max to gain an advantage over the opposition then im sorry but they arent the right person for the job, wheather we like it or not we are in a results based business and im sure a coaches job description is to win as many games as possible within the rules, and if the team cross the line the coach knows what the outcome will be

Yes I have and he moved to his right and moved his shoulder in. It's very clear. Watch again if you feel the need.
And I really do not know which professional foul you are talking about btw. If that is what happened then whoever it was who did it should have been binned. I don't like cheating, whichever side does it.

Would that not be when Lockers picked the ball up from the scrum and ran from the half way line, the Saints tackler was then penalised in the corner for holding down while the defence was reset. This is often deemed as a professional foul and ten minutes on the side line follows. I have not yet watched the game again but it also looked like a trip from where I was standing, accidental???

Um, you might not have noticed but this is a thread on the Saints board. I would suggest, regardless of whether any Saints fans on here are 'humiliating' themselves, you look like a particular pratt because you keep coming on our board. We're entitled to 'humiliate' ourselves on our own board if that is what we wish to do.
Meanwhile, onward to Cas ...

That's the one.
I see no one is agreeing with the Roberts sin binning when it is clear that Pryce dummied and then actually tapped the ball before Roberts made the tackle

He didn't have a good game, he was poor. And I mean poor for both teams. He missed forward passes, high tackles and the holding down was a disgrace by both teams.
Yes, Wigan do lie on and slow the play the ball down but if they get away with it then good on them. They are playing to the rules as the ref dosnt blow up.
It's not poor play by Wigan at all, it's clever play but it's poor by the refs.
I also think saints did a lot of holding down as well but not as bad as Wigan and hudds. It's not down to the clubs to stop it, it's down to the RFL.

I really don't understand the sin bin of Roberts, Pryce sets up to play, stops and complains about Mossop encroaching. Then plays the ball with his left foot on the floor, Roberts touches him and pulls back, Pryce then plays the ball a second time and Roberts grabs Pryce's arm as passing. Whistle goes and sin bin.
As far as I am aware playing the ball with the foot can be done once and dummying is not allowed either from a penalty or in general play. I don't get what Roberts did wrong, he moves to tackle a player who has played the ball and stops thinking the ball was not played, Pryce plays again and Roberts grabs his arm. I don't see at any point in this sequence of events where Roberts did anything which would be penalised, nevermind a sin-bin.
