As much as I love Jamie and would desperately want to see him back in the red vee - I can't help but being a tad disappointed with how he's handled the whole rep situation. Playing rep footie (in any sport) should be the proudest honour a player can receive - no-one in their right mind should be refusing to represent their country.

I think this is more a case of the NRL having a personal grudge with Lyon. I very much doubt that such draconian rules would be applied to other players.

If he doesn't want to play rep football then that should be the end of it. Banning him from club rugby is utterly ridiculous.

Its not a decision i would make, playing for your country is an honour, but whatever his reasons, it is his choice and the nrl should respect that. Its not like he's their only star and they will suddenly be rubbish without him.

Family comes first for Jamie and it's about time the bigwigs in Australia respected that, some things are much more important than Rugby League. Like it or not, rugby league is a job for him. He's never hidden that fact. It may be the proudest honour a player can recieve, but not for Jamie.
