Visited today to see the almost complete cladding work. There still is a tiny little bit to do.
Anyway here goes
The west Stand is now completely sealed in at the back.
Completed North west corner
North Stand
The East stand
Love the Sign they have put up above the away end turnstyles.
Its a bit like a fans equivalent of THIS IS ANFIELD!
Bit of Work to do here at the corner of the East and South Stands
South and East stands
As a bonus treat, here is a link to full stadium construction timeline, as I know some people were looking for one.

The NW and NE corners wont be fully sealed in. This will allow air onto the pitch.

The old air on the pitch thing
I think it's all rubbish about "air to the pitch" being the reason the stadium is left wide open. The pitch is outside, it's a open roof stadium so I'd say it's pretty much getting air to it.
My lawn grows pretty well in my back garden and it's got big 6ft 6in fence all the way around.

| I think it's utter BS about the corners being left open to get air to the pitch. FFS the pitch is outside! Air will get to it! It's not got a roof!

| I'm sure some one posted a link to an NFL club that had issues with air flow. But it's quite possible that airflow is not the only or main reason for the corners being left open.
But it's certainly not a cost issue either as 4 extra sets of panels in the long run is not that much.
At other stadia that is fully enclosed they have to leave the doors open to allow airflow on to the pitch on none match days. But this would require FT security staff, rather than just the current shop people.
There must be some reason even if it's a structural issue, that the structure given it's original design, needs some kind of, give in it, for the wind to get around.
But regardless
We don't see Wigan, Leeds, Warrington, Bradford, Huddersfield etc
Basically everyone but HULL FC, worrying about open sides.
It's unlikely to be airflow alone, but I don't think it's cost either.

| Didn't Eamonn say that the corners wouldn't be put in in part because the structures around the corners weren't able to support the weight of cladding and would require completely rebuilding and redesigning?

| Why does it matter why is isn't clad in the two corners??? Have they solved the wet concourse issue...yes. Does it look finished...yes. My own take is that the gap is to allow access for heavy plant or emergency vehicles etc. Personally I think it's a job well done.

I'm not fussed about the corners etc, I'm just pointing out I don't believe it's because of the air flow. It just makes me laugh about it. We are in a tiny little stadium and the is 100,000 + stadiums with all corners filled in.
It's a pitch outside, it's getting air!

| Now they just need to install LED lights around the halo like on the bridge changing from red to white. That would look cool at night.

I was watching Soccer AM on Saturday morning and they visited FC Schalke's stadium in Germany and they have a retractable pitch which is moved outside of the stadium after a match to allow the air to get to it and then it is rolled back in the day before a game.
I doubt they'd go to so much trouble if there wasn't something in it? It has a roof the stadium, but I think that opens and closes like the Millennium Stadium in Cardiff.

The is one in the NFL which slides out the stadium as it has a roof on it.
Maybe FC Schalke have a bigger stadium which shades the pitch?
Let's be honest, Langtree isn't in the same league as these stadiums. Langtree pitch has no problems with the roof stands shading any of the pitch. In fact, the roof barely covers the seats never mind the pitch.
IMO the reason it was left open was financial reasons. When it came apparent the was health & Safety issues and fans wasn't happy with getting drenched the club had to act and righty so.

| Some people are never happy :/ you spend 20 million, through a recession on a new stadium, it doesn't have cladding which must be financial, they spend 800,000 to put on the cladding they didn't fill in the corners which must be financial - never mind we spent a transfer fee for the first time in years,, or you know, actually built a stadium by the club for the club and owned by the club, we must be in financial crisis! They must be cheap skating!
Whether or not saints stadium is in the same league as shalke, your garden fence is also out of the saints stadiums league - and FYI, air unable to move in big structures does cause issues. Whether or not this is the case I don't know, whether it's because of air flow, or because they'd have to completely restructure the corners, which what I was told at the time and haven't actually seen anything suggesting anything else since,, or in fact any other reason - IT SHOULDN'T MATTER - why not just be grateful for our new home for the next 100 years potentially?
