| Can you really be that stupid Saint Simon? It takes a settling in period for most players and if you hadn't noticed Clark has been improving and had his best game last week v Wigan. I'd much rather have Gidley and Lineham than the crocked nobodies you've bought.

| Castleford & Huddersfield have their own problems to worry about. Both hit the final stretch last season and flat-lined.

That's because McDonnell was signed as our 5th choice fullback, and Quinlan replacing him. Of course they aren't going to be as high profile as your marquee signing
Gidley is past it now. Watching him against Canberra at the minute and he's been non-existent...and that's at one of his stronger positions of fullback. Isn't Smith planning on playing him at halfback?

| We're you once a half decent player but now no one wants you because you are a shadow of the player you once were?
Have you shown glimpses of talent but want it coached out of you?
Fear not, at Warrington Wolfs we cater for both these type of players! In fact, we are the market leader!

Was going to post something similar
Doesn't matter who they sign, they still won't win the league. You can't buy a winning mentality.

The one that mattered, the one that Wire have never won. Mind you, if flower had been on Wigan would have won with 30pts, or so says the Ape.

So we're down to a baron 5 years as opposed to Warrington's baron 50 years. And in those baron years we were in the grand final twice (not including last year).
So let's conveniently ignore the years Wire won anything since 2009 and how big is your baron spell ( Hint - answer above)

| If we're spanning 50 years back, then we may as well go back to the start of rugby league where you only won one trophy up until the 50s; the same time we were involved in the most famous rl game in front of a world record crowd.
I agree that we've been fairly crap in the sl era but that is history, like one trophy during the first half of the club's existence (ie Saints).
A club's successful record over the past 3/4/5 years has more of a relevance and feel good factor than one where the fans constantly have to bring up the distant past in order to support a point of view.
'Who is Baron 7 ? Some kind of Lord of the Manor perhaps' - is that supposed to be funny? You've even placed one of those 'patronising smilies' at the end of it. Now that's funny!

Ah mate, are you on the booze again?
Mentioning the first 50 years of our existence is a bit desperate. Slagging each other's teams off is what fans do, but you have to pick a fight you can win...like who's got the best 'Next', 'Marks & Spencer' or shopping centre. You can hold your heads up high on them things but you're always gonna come off 2nd best if you try to compare success between the rugby clubs.

| Look here chaps. This thread was initially started with Saints fans taking the mikey out of Warrington for trying to sign big name players. So I'm sticking up for my side and saying that we should be aiming high and have been (contrary to comments) successful already in bringing Lineham and Gidley for next season and last year brought over the last years MOS.
So all the Saints mikey taking regarding potential transfers in fact is very ironic and funny from my point of view. Throwing stones at glass houses and all that; you guys aren't even in a glass house to throw stones from!
So what happens is, when you're losing an argument, you always manipulate the discussion around to measuring success.
I will categorically say now that overall Saints have been more successful as stats don't lie. This has come about since the sl era began. Up until that point, there wasn't a great deal to choose between the two sides. Apart from your rather fortunate gf win last year, 0 trophies in the last 5 years is not up your usual standards, but for some reason you seem to have a number of blinkered posters who believe you are the great side of 5 years ago, and before, and continue to attempt to take the mikey out of wire when, if you look at recent history, aka past 5 years, our silverware haul and signings compare much more favourably to yours. So what I'm basically trying to say is that some of your fans are deluded.
The final point is that; attempts to patronise look even more imbecilic when they are made at the end of post disproving an argument unrelated to the thread in order to obtain a superficial mini victory. As soon as you guys brought in the famous ' we've won more in the sl than you', and 'we're higher up than you' argument; shows you you've lost the thread's argument which was about Wire's signings and Potential signings.

....Is this because Saints have won more trophies than Warrington?
They're a big club and they have our respect. Even though historically they are in our shadow.
