Wigan under Noble for instance could usually rise to the big games (yourselves excepted sadly) and beat them, but never looked like putting 3 months worth of consistent performances in.

No-one would doubt for a second that Leeds were a much better team than us in those years, yet the head-to-heads didn't reflect that at all. For all the negativity here, Saints are only 3 points off top spot - I'd have taken that at any point in the 5 years prior to Maguire coming in.

Well, they can be compared to us but never favourably. Their fans are still showing due appreciation of us by starting rumours about taking our players. It's Jon Wilkin now who is apparently signing for the Mighty Wire! He's going to join James Graham and Tony Puletua in the ranks of new Wolves apparently.

Jon Wilkin's already bought a house and business in Warrington. Maybe he's been planning the move for a while?

Actually having been looking at the threads on this forum it seems very familiar to the Wire board, the same pie-eaters crop up trolling the threads on here that we get on ours.

Wilkin has a testemonial next year. Unless Saints say they don't want him he's hardly likely to walk out is he?

As for whether we're the new Wire, no. We simply have to accept that it's not possible to keep up the level of excellence we have done for the last 15 years. Our time will come again

With all due respect "bobbing under the top teams and then making some decent runs in the playoff's" is what Saints have been doing for the past 4 years.

2008 - 1st
2009 - 2nd
2010 - 2nd

We've finished in the top 2 for the last six seasons and been to the Grand Final for five years on the spin.

Some people are getting way ahead of themselves, forgetting the facts. We set the standard in Superleague. Everyone else is simply catching up (except Bradford, who are sliding further and further away ...).
