Well, with the form they are in it was never going to be a stroll in the park. But yes, on Monday it is definitely going to be a backs to the wall effort. Whether the players from today will have the mental and/or physical resources to have another go at a backs to the wall effort remains to be seen. Quite possibly the u20s guys will relish their chances but heaven knows what we'll get from them!

That would be me, and no not feeling stupid, only just heard the result. To be fair did not see that coming.

Threw away a 20 point lead this week and a 14 point lead last week. It happened a lot last year and it's creeping back in this year. Don't be surprised to see Cas go up early then go to sleep and Saints snatch a close win at the end.

I'm sure few people did see it coming, to be fair. Although I do remember thinking when Wakey played us that teams would be wise to take them seriously (Royce made a valid point about that I thought) simply because people were mistaking them for a poor team when what they are really is an inexperienced one, with some good players lurking in there. Oh, and a coach who does not know the meaning of surrender!

Just read that it was 24 - 4 at one point, so it's always hard to predict a comeback like that.

I thought I was doing well on the predictions front after yesterday. I got pretty close with the margin.

But today I just sucked big time. The closest one I got today was Wigan 24 Saints 25 still got the result wrong.

I'm more hopeful for Monday now.

Well, I just backed all the underdogs for this week and only got the Wakey call right! I won't be getting into the predictions business in a serious way anytime soon!

It's such a tight league this year. 5 points cover the top 7, 6 points if you assume Cas win the game in hand against wigan.


11 games gone and 3rd in the league, can't complain too much. 1st would have been nice, but we've been 1st come the end of the season in recent years and still not been champions so, I'm not too concerned at not getting the top slot today.

It's going to be very difficult. Without any attacking threat working as a foil for Lomax the defence knows it only has to load up on him and most of our expansive game will be snuffed out. I suppose it underlines the importance of multi-skilled footballers such as Wilkin who can drop into the playmaking positions when injuries occur. It's safe to assume Jon will take on most of the kicking duties and he'll need to find his range early.

A far bigger problem is in dealing with the time when Puletua and Graham are off the pitch. We can't afford to have twenty minute periods away from home where we cannot get out of our own half (during which the opposition is liable to run in one or more tries) so it might be wise to stagger the interchanges between the two so that we can at least have one in the game at all times.

We have a dour record away to Saints. (However, the game aint in Saints is it.)

We lost to a Leed rhino team full of reserves 3 year back (we are a better side now).

There's a still a vast amount of quality in the team you'll put out. I just have a feeling we'll come out all guns blazing and put in an 80 minute performance and win. (had a similar "we will lose" feeling yesterday, threw £10 on it!). So assuming the bookies will give us an 8 start, might be worth a punt!

That's exactly what I am worried about. Nothing like a team caught out for taking vicarious revenge the following week!

Either that or we didn't get out of second gear and got caught with a sucker puch. We didn't give Wakefield the credit they deserved and they punished us. If you stopped calling off our games and actually play us you will see we are a good side you arrogant barsteward. How is Finch going by the way
