Surely the stat you should be looking at is the number of penalties kicked?

| Quote ="McClennan"We can't win with RL supporters. First we complain about sides dropping the ball too often and not being able to execute a simple ball control gameplan and then as soon as teams start doing it we moan because they aren't throwing the ball around with gay abandon. Madness.'"
Mike. Are you telling me that teams are not dropping the ball too often and they can execute simple passes? I've never seen teams drop the ball so much. It's bloody rife.
Are you watching the game at all these days?
Get a fooking grip man!
It's the same old retort anytime anyone has anything negative to say. I appreciate you have never liked negativity and always attempt to belittle anyone who doesn't see things through rose tinted spectactles but, sometimes, some people do have valid points and this is one of them.
If you believe that the game has not gone negative, that the rugby league is still as exciting and that teams are actually demonstrating a better ability to keep hold of the ball, then I suggest you go to the doctor immediately and get yourself off the happy pills.
I'd also suggest you canvas the opinion of the large number of regular faces you used to see at games who have deserted the game due to the boredom factor and some of those more respected ones of our age group and older, who are still going regularly (much more than you may I add. ) but who are very unhappy with the level of the entertainment being provided.

| I don't think super league is boring i think your team is boring.
Saints have been used to fast wingers, skillful centres and cheeky halfbacks.
You have none of that now.
I'f you'd had just darren albert in your team you'd have won one of the last 3 grand finals.

There have been many fans agreeing that the entertainment value has dropped, yes.

The slowing of the PTB has reduced the openess of the game. It has also led to more tackles being made in the competition. As defences improve the openess of the game reduces. Is the improvement in defence partly due to the slowing down of the PTB? Yes. However, some people used to suggest that the game was too open and creativity was dying as a result and would state that we should consider reducing the 10m rule back. We can't have it both ways. Either we speed up the PTB and moan about lack of creativity or we keep it as it is and moan about the lack of creativity.

I have not blamed the play-the-ball per se.
As it happens, last night perfectly demonstrated the negative tactics of the game.
On very few occasions did we try to move the ball about to fashion chances and we relied heavily on percentage plays.
Now, i could handle this a little more if the coaches could point to the fact that their team lost too much possession by keeping the ball alive yet how is it possible for teams to lose possession more than they are doing at the moment.
The alarming thing is, even with one pass and a drive, we are still seeing dropped ball akimbo. Most of the time, that is because the dummy half can't even execute a simple one metre pass.
The standard of play, with ball in hand, in this country is appalling and it makes for awful viewing.

| Well at least the Aussies and the Kiwis can play the game. Rugby League is not dead after all, although British Rugby League may well be.

Hard yards rewarded by quick PTB's and more skill in that game than in ANY SL game all season. I really enjoyed last night's game, it's how the game should be played.

| Loved that match. It was good to know that RL is alive and kicking somewhere in the world. And those two teams are just warming up too. What a final it will be!
I hope the RFL take note.

I think you need to take a chill pill. Either that or go back to your own board.
There were lots of offloads in the England -v- France match, from players from all clubs, not just boring Leeds. But not one player on the pitch on Friday night came close in quality of offloads to the any of players on the pitch on Saturday night. The gap in quality across the park was huge.

| How can you lot be bored of super league?
You have had years upon years of success
I love going down the lane to watch the tigers,we never know what's in store for each game never mind the season,we've been relegated and come back successfully to the big time, life is never dull as a tigers fan,we also play a fantastic brand of rugby which is exciting to watch,ok it doesn't always bring us the spoils but it's great to watch
I'd suggest that your coach has stiffled your attacking prowess this past season,so your grievances surely lie much closer to home
At the end of the day if you're all diss-illussioned with RL in these parts, you could always come and support the Tigers next season
