That was awful!
I was made up with us today - defence was great again. We always seemed in charge today even without Longy.
And I think Meli's 'visa' problem was a cover for a month of intensive catching practice.

Have to agree with you there. Our 2nd half performance would have let Wath Brow get through to the next round.

I thought he was going all the way from that break after the second catch.

| What happened at the Saint scrum which resulted in Leeds getting the ball?
Meli put Donald into touch which was a Saints scrum, Saints played the screm, ref blew for something, Leeds got the scrum. Senior scores from resulting set of 6.

I think the bragging rights are shared today, the result 4-0 put a small smile on my face as I returned from a game which the better team won and full credit to Saints, their defence was superb.

| We win a hard game against a team that are our equals and yet still find a reason to criticise a Saints player. Why not take the win, enjoy it and be satisfied just the once?

| Thought Gidders was lucky we won today. We saw some sublime stuff from him today, setting up Ade's try for one and some great d. But we also saw him be stupidly slow to react for JJB's try, mess up a clear scoring opportunity with his forward pass to Gardner and almost cost us a try when he shot out of the line, slipped and Burrow dropped it.

That 4-0 made the day even better for me, Saints win at Headingley minus Long, and the Toffees stick 4 past someone, happy days!

Do tell, how does a Leeds fan come to support Everton, or vice versa?

I wasn't so pleased with Everton sticking 4 past someone, because that someone was Wigan.

| Based on today's performance and the previous encounter in this years superleague clash it's worth noting that under Potter we seem to have the measure of Leeds both in the ruck and in the back play. Our defence from the line is more leaner and our breaking attack is more thoughtful and less hurried.

To be honest Jon Wilkin did exactly what i thought he might have done against us and full credit to the lad...

Yes you seem to have discovered an edge at coaching level and today it paid a good dividend.
Thats not to slam our coach...yet. We just need to be smarter esp with the rotations.
However the CC could yet be a poison chalice given the lack of depth of your squad.

I honestly believe the bulk of this squad could be the dawn of a new era and potentially something special, again. We have a good blend of youth and experience and no longer look reliant on the usual suspects ie Longy, KC and Scully etc.
The youngsters have been a breath of fresh air within the club, and none look out of place in SL, albeit all are at different stages of their development, both physically and maturity.
The squad possibly from past GF disappointments have a real hunger this year. There is an evident desire and trust in each individual, especially defensively and the youngsters are thriving in the current atmosphere.
Potter has to take a lot of credit for installing the confidence in players he probably knew little about.
The likes of Clough and Hargreaves are improving massively and any doubts of Potter throwing an Ashurst, Dixon, Eastmond, Wheeler etc into the side have been dispelled.
