| Boxing day 41-6 against the pies. We really looked like we could take the title that year and we would have if it wasnt for losing to a p!ss poor Leigh team in the mud at Hilton park (game before boxing day maybe??)
1996 CCF too - finally saw us win at wembley.

| Loads really!
One that really does it for me is when we beat Wigan at Cardiff - first time I'd ever seen us beat them in a Challenge Cup Final (I was just too young for '66!) and had been through the agonies of all the ones since.
The thing that really still makes it the most special is the photo I took of our youngest daughter - then aged 8 - at the final whistle, and knowing that it was just as special for her too!!

Ditto. After seeing us lose at four Wembley finals before that it wasn't looking good when we went 14 points down. I was fired up at that point determined not to let our vocal support die. I stood up (was in the front row of the Olympic Gallery and shouted at my mates to stand up and get behind their team lol. The elation I felt at the end was incredible. It was like a huge weight had been lifted off my shoulders.
The Ultimate Comeback just edges out Cardiff 2004 which was similarly euphoric and tension relieving. Finally seeing us beat Wigoon in Challenge Cup Final was brilliant. It was a victory that's on my checklist and that Saturday night will go down as one as my favourite memories. All evening and late into the night I was in emotional ecstacy buzzing my nips off.

I think it was Robin Whitfield that day.
1996 CC final was the one for me. It was my fifth time going watch us at Wembley, seeing us lose the previous four. I'd almost given up the ghost with about twenty five minutes left that day. I remember exploding when Newlove gave a daft penalty away. I couldn't believe it was happening to me again. Thank god they had a retard at full back.

| 19-0 against Wigan
The first time we had nilled them in SL with KC tackling Mark Smith in the corner and then stopped him putting the ball down.
The Wide to West
I was down the Eddy End of the Popular Side and seeing the taunts of Bradford fans turning to glum was fantastic
04 CC Final
Warmest day ever with a prolonged journey but coming away with a great hit by Feaunati and the CC.
Saints v Warrington
Longy's drop goal and subsequent chicken dance, at the HJ in the mould of the Bradford game with the taunts turning to glum faces again.

| 1996 Challenge Cup Final by a long way.
We had waited so long to see us win one of the game's two major prizes and we were so excited in the lead up, thinking that itt was going to finally be our day, so to be 26-12 against a team that was then seen as no-hopers, was just a horrible, gut-wrenching moment that makes me fill up just thinking about it now.
To turn it around from that and finally break that twenty year period of pain was simply the greatest ever feeling I have had watching Saints.
In one game, I experienced the utilmate of negative emotions and the ultimate in positive. I'd be amazed if any other RL game I ever witness could have such a wide experience of raw emotions.

| Strange one for me.
The 2003 Challenge Cup final at Cardiff Bradford v Leeds.
My dad had died three weeks earlier.
Me and mini went to the Millenium, and when they played Abide with me there were a couple of people in front of us "rabbiting on"
I was in tears and had to tell them quite loudly to shut up ( or something like that)
They were shocked.
I apologised shortly afterwards and explained the reason. They were so sorry and we had a laugh about it.
I'm sure dad would have been cringing at my outburst.
The other one was the 1989 final, and the singing of you'll never walk alone shortly after Hillsborough (We are not Liverpool fans) I've never seen so many people in tears.

| Mmm,
Having only being introduced in '93 (watching the premiership final win on telly is my oldest recollection) I had to endure 3 years of going to games and seeing us lose to wigan again and again through out Eric Hughes reign. The victory at KR in '96 was so sweet, not just to me, but to everyone around me.
Wembley '96 was another example of tasting victory following a drought and the comeback situation made it very sweet.
The Wide to West game is one that really sticks in my head aswell. Not just for the spectacular nature of the final, believe it or not, but mainly because I can still feel the utter exasperation of myself and the Saints fans around me. We had been genuinely been the better team that day, but somehow found ourselves behind (Leon had scored a full lengther after cataching a kick on his own line and the field just seemed to open up). To go from that low to seeing the match rescued in such dramatic fashion was such a buzz!

| Being a Saints fan over the past 14 years has given us tonnes of matches to choose as our most emotional, and for that we are privileged to watch such a great team.
However, my most emotional match was the ‘Wide to West’ match.
That morning, I had attended my Granddad’s funeral in Lytham which was a very emotional event in itself. Me and my Dad weren’t going to attend the match, but we were persuaded to by my mum, knowing that Granddad would have wanted us to go the match.
My Granddad loved his rugby league and used to be a rugby league referee back in the 50’s and 60’s. He refereed the famous Odsal match, a cup final replay, where there were about 110,000 people attended. He also refereed Wembley Cup Finals 5 times, a record only equalled and never beaten.
So me and dad got changed at the wake and set off - my uncle came along too.
The emotion when we scored that try was unbelievable – something I will never forget. I was hugging my dad and my uncle, as well as a number of random people too.
Out of the all the matches I could pick, that was the most emotional I have attended.
As a footnote, Abide with Me always gets a lump in my throat too as that was my Granddad’s favourite part of the Cup Final.

| Toss up between us winning the GF in 99, first time I'd seen them win a trophy, or Newlove's last match for us against the Pies. We got snotted, I got "tired and emotional".
