6-7k from Wire, christ did they win something last year or buy loads of players for this season?

If they bring 7k over in a frenzy of optimism and get beaten in the closing stages, I won't stop laughing for months.

Which just goes to show the lack of intelligence of journalists in wire land.

Wire have been sent 3500 tickets which they sold, and then were given a further 1500 tickets which they still have on sale.

That means less than 5k wire fans not 6k or 7k as they are saying.

By kick off the wire brigade will be telling everyone they have sold 10k tickets.

We've had about 15 years of laughter at their expense.

Plus another 1000 on Wednesday taking the total upto 6000, On the official club website its saying we are expecting approximately 6000. The club shop has got just under a thousand left ,so with two days to go it looks like it will be very close to 6000 travelling down on friday.

to be honest it beats winning nothing and letting players go ........ which you should all now be fully experienced in.

it maybe a $hithole but its a historic Stadium just like wilderspool was and believe it or not Wire have had many great games there, including Lancashire cup final wins etc....

so you think this being Wires last match at Knowsley Road has nothing to do with it? Yes ou good recent form has a bearing..but so does the fact that its that last match we are likely to play at the old old place.

You are spot on there saint Billy. They are only turning out in their masses because they think this is THE DAY. It may well be but they can't fool us as to why they are coming in their droves.

just a quick question,me and 2 others have bought tickets via the saints website because none are showing on warrington's now so think we have sold out.

we have 3 'ground' tickets,does this mean we can stand with the other wire fans? or will segregation be in place? cheers enjoy the game!

You can stand anywhere.

I think our fans are turning up because we are in good form and there is a feel good factor. Had our biggest turn out at Hudds for years last month.

No Warrington fan surely goes to Knowsley Road feeling confident!

yes, come in from dunriding lane end, and go in the side opposite the tunnel.. that's usually were all the away fans stand

I have had happy and sad times at knowsley road over many years. The place is now well past it's best but it's always a little moving when you leave a ground realising you will never again be going into a place you have been going to since you were a small child. RIP as of october 2010 knowsley road,you have served your club well.

No, no. They don't mean where the players come out. They mean the old tunnel, where the players used to come out but now where only the kids who play at half time come out. This tunnel goes under the uncovered Saints end, near the clubhouse and stuff. Have you never noticed it? Or seen the kids who play at halftime disappear down a rabbit hole?

It's better to get to the away end through the Knowsley Road turnstiles anyway, not the other ones. But there's no segregation at KR; just tradition. And the tradition is that the away fans go behind the sticks under the shelter (though it could get cosy if 10,000 of you are turning up!)
