Another thread of bitterness! I worked for a while for Warrington and never had a problem with them the Director I worked with was a first class Gentleman something I never got from Knowsley Road at the time, but I was not bitter I just moved on, at the end of the day it is sport and off the field a business.

Saints fans were absolute angels two weeks ago. No baiting before or during the match. Dignified in victory and were hanging out of car windows after the game wishing us all the best and praising our performance.

Well, the last time Warrington won the league , the prime minister was Winston Churchill , West Germany became a sovereign country, the first edition of the Guinness Book of Records was published, James Dean was killed, ... Thats how long ago it was

Why does it matter when you last won something? Yes we may not even have our 'little finger' on the trophy. But we're a damn sight closer to it than you. We all need to live in the moment, not the past. There is a good chance we will loose yes, but to be perfectly honest I couldn't care less. I'm just excited for us to be there for the first time ever.

This is a perfect 'I was there moment' that I can tell grand kids about in years to come. And win or loose it doesn't matter I can still look back with fond memories.

So stop trying to put a dampener on our party because you've already been there and got the t-shirt. We haven't, and this year we're doing it without you so get over it.

Good Luck on Saturday, enjoy the atmosphere and the game, gutted it's not us but can't begrudge, the team that was better on the night that mattered, their place in the Grand Final.

You'll still be affectionatley know as W@nky even though you've had a real good Purple patch these last 4 years.

At the end of the day it's the moments that define us all and this is one moment that everyone involved with your club should savour as they are not always as recurrent as they have been for us in the last 6 years.

Indeed - they might as well have chanted "Your fans over the years have beaten us down, gotten under our skins and given us an inferiority complex that we'll never be to able to shake off" instead. It just demonstrates the deep-seated trauma that they are all labouring with and only years of sustained success will help cure them of it I reckon - I think there may be jumpers from the top tier at O/T next week if Leeds win. I think we're just inately a little better balanced - I certainly don't remember us ever having to bother singing "we're no longer S**t Helens" at Wigan back in '96 for example...

Warrington's problem is that although they have the superstars, the cash, the coach.. there are still essences of a 'small club mentality' over at the HJ. I know where you are all coming from. Wire have been bad for so long and I can honestly say even now I'm never fully confident in our team even though we can turn it on and play so well, we can also turn it off which is when our only problem... And I have no beef with our team being reffered to as W@nky Wire, it's part of the banter and does make me chuckle



I personally don't mind it however us singing 'Oh W@nky, w@nky! w@nky! w@nky! w@nky! w@nky! Warrington!' is the chant that you hear more often than not. and you can't call us for that as we didn't come up with it
