Totally agree with you on this Gaz, regardless of the two teams, or the players involved, the RFL continually make themselves look stupid in situations like this.
What makes it all the funnier is how many stages this went through before it was finally decided that it wasn't a 'chicken-wing'.

It's ridiculous, so what is the difference between the tackle on JJB on Graham, and an actual chicken wing tackle? ? ?

| I thought 'chicken wing' was simply a colloquialism for a tackling technique involving undue pressure on the joint when pushing the arm and shoulder back. At least that is what was described a few months back when Boots'n'All visited the wrestling place where both Saints and Wigan players have trained previously. Good wrestling technique does not involve putting undue pressure on joints.

| We all know the RFL bottle it when it comes to banning players with important games coming up. This is the same for every side, i can`t believe people are getting wound up about it, when eveyrone knew any bans would only be 1 match. Ive seen Saints players get away with it, along with lots of other players, so we can`t moan. One thing i will say, that no one seems to have mentioned, and i will stand corrected if i`m wrong, is that, i seem to remember earlier in the season Fasa`valu being found guilty of the same thing JJB did to Graham and im sure he got 2 matches for it, can`t seem to work out the difference between them myself?

No, he got one match ban. He didn't get all pathetic about it though like peanut head but just took the consequences like a man (and his was recognised as unintentional also).

Ask the RFL
I didn't deem it not to be a chicken wing tackle.

He got 1 match and £300 fine same as JJB, it's just the delirium by some Saints fans about it happening to one of you players that is keeping the Leeds trolls here.

You obviously have NOT read the written submissions made by the Saints player the club coach et al involved.

Glad you finally agree JJB was not intentionally trying to injure Graham.

Like Potter trying to drag up a earlier game and a different tackle to defend Mary???
[i"The player received treatment and played on. Mr Potter added that there was a tackle in the first round where a technique was being used which injured two of the St Helens players which was 'knees into the calfs' which needs to be raised - players were purposefully trying to do this whereas Maurie's is a one off incident"[/i

That was my understanding too. It seems like Leeds pushed that it wasn't technically a chicken wing tackle, because he used his body rather than his hands n arm to cause the same position of the arm and the same damage.
I don't think it really matters what its called. It is purposefully trying to injure a player by bending his arm back. Should have got a larger ban.

This is just a wild guess but I bet you think Mauries was different and not intentional and didn't warent more than a one match ban?

I wasn't agreeing to that at all. It was the RFL who determined it was unintentional, not me, and they did so when Maurie did a similar thing at the outset of the season. If the two were of the same seriousness then I would have been perfectly happy for Maurie to have had a two match ban just as I would have liked to see JJB have a two match ban. I think it merited more than a one match ban, particularly since the RFL claim to be attempting to stamp out that kind of tackle (joke of the season).

Yeah I'm sure all the Leeds and Saints players really have a lot of respect for each other. That's why when Leeds did something naughty their colleagues patted them on their backs and mocked the Saints players.

Well when speaking to James Graham himself the only person he made out not to have respect for was Ryan Bailey.

Fair enough. You should ask Lee Gilmour what he thinks of Lee Smith.
What did the great one say about Ryan Bailey then? PM me if you need to, I won't share it with anyone.
