To be fair to Brown - he lacks the kind of attacking firepower Wigan, Leeds & Warrington all possess.

I did enjoy watching Hudds take apart Cas. They played some good stuff when they got space.

Most would stick Morgan in the pretty good/half decent catogory. You wouldn't particluary say he was bad, but you wouldn't say he was top drawer, either.

Could a coach of that middling standard have a real positive effect in such a short space of time?

The biggest drawback for Brown will be the daily round trip from Honley, down the M62 carnage park.

i heard from a very good source a fortnight since that brown was likely to be the new saints coach next year, but brown as said that he wont be the NEXT saints coach so that infers that someone will be in charge for the rest of the year., with brown the new coach next season, fwiw i think he will be a great coach for saints, he seems to be very good at bringing through good young english talent which saints seem to have plenty of, will probably be the making of lomax to me.

I'd be happy with Brown. I like the way Huddersfield mix their attacking pivots. Makes it hard for defenders to pick their men.

Mind you, if we have to wait [inine months[/i for him to arrive with Rush & Cunningham in charge - and things turn sour? You only need look at league players who've returned early from Union to realise how much damage six months of mediocre coaching can do.

Ive also heard Brown will definitely be our coach for 2013, DA was also very much in the frame for the job full time, but it didnt happen due to circumstances/timing issues.

Seriously though, I hope this same situation doesnt materialise at Saints, we need stability going forward.

I'd be happy with brown. He's turned Huddersfield into contenders with what is, imo, an inferior playing roster to ours.
His team is solid in the forwards and play some good attacking rugby.

Would be very happy with Brown, Huddersfield play some extremely entertaining RL and he clearly gives the outside backs license to back themselves.

As I've said elsewhere I'm not disappointed with Brown's appointment but I am disappointed that we don't appear to have seen if there was anybody else out there in the whole world of RL that could be better. If we have looked then fair enough. If we haven't then we get what we deserve.

I'm not sure that will be an issue. Rush appears to have had major success in coaching the kids to first team, Cunningham will know the kinds of things that need to be done in a successful side, so I doubt the first team players will lose skills in this period. It's the tactics side of the role that I have my doubts about, but that won't dull skill sets if it isn't up to scratch.

No, we turned smith down in favour of potter because we wanted to get to grand finals, something smith has been struggling with in recent years.

Think any British club will struggle to sign a proven, world class coach. The salaries being paid in the NRL dwarf anything we pay over here. Closest you'd get is a good number 2 wanting to prove himself and instil his own ideas as first team coach. Worked a treat at Wigan, so naturally, I hope you don't find one.





Brown does seem a bit eccentric but he does know his rugby.
