Like I said, hardly the most unbiased of view points. Well see what comes up.
Got told there were fights in the stands at the end of the game, anyone know anything?'"
Being very close to both incidents my opinions are Lomax slipped and was injured in collision with Ali. I don't think it was a penalty or that Lomax tried to milk anything. When you slip you aren't in a good position to defend yourself and impact on Alis knees & the floor was heavy. I don't think either did anything wrong & it should have been play on after Lomax treatment.
With Amor it seemed to me he did what a lot of forwards do in this day and age which is to swing a full arm at someone. They usually aim to hit the chest. It looks awful but is used a lot. Amor had red mist I could see it in his face I was that close and misjudged it and walloped him. Amor isn't dirty and is a cracking player. I feel he will utilise the early guilty plea.
Roby spoiled the game. The frustrating thing for both fans is that Saints could have won it without his love in with the whistle. So you get Wakefield fans like myself annoyed and it takes away the focus of Saints effort without 4/5 quality players. Without his poor involvement the focus would be on a great game & a Wakefield team showing their no mugs and a Saints team showing they have great strength in depth. But the big disappointment of poor officiating is what the game could have been. I believe it would have been a 2/4 point margin right until the final seconds & even gone down to a drop goal type game. But it is ruined.
That said I tipped Saints for the title this season and definitely think if you have luck with injuries you'll take it!!

Did watch the game with binoculars ? You seem to have seen everything pretty clear.
How the hell could you see red mist on Amor? He hasn't even got a face, he's just hair and a beard.

| Amor was offside when Ryan took the quick tap, Ryan put a big don't argue on Amor and Kyle didn't like it so he had a go back with a swinging arm and caught Ryan high.

Stood directly behind the sticks slightly mid right, approximately 6ft 2" from the pitch . The 2 incidents I described in detail happened right next to that. Where were you stood? What's your thoughts on the game?

The reality is none of us can predict what the disciplinary will and won't pick up. For me, as you said Amor is not a dirty player, and I don't believe it'll get picked up ... Mistimed maybe, but hardly the worst we've seen this year (which hasn't even been penalised!) - Nfa for both Ali and Amor for me (but hey what do I know )
I agree, saints were without 6-7 first teamers today, and instead Wakefield fans are focussing on "amors deliberate attempt to take a player out" which is definitely feels like it's leaning toward the melodramatic. A poor refereeing standard is part of today's game, but shouldn't excuse either teams performances.

| Just got home.
Wakefield fans on here worse than Agar. Was listening to BBC Leeds and agar was moaning at the ref.
Great victory considering who we had out. Thought the young lads did well off the bench and Masoe had his best game. Big mins last week must have done him a lot of good.

Some are yes but a sin bin or sending off at that stage wouldn't have changed anything at that time. Watching it back will be interesting. The previous poster stating was I with binoculars. I was one of the closest fans to this incident. Amor did have a red mist type face but more to put a big hefty aggressive shot. It's for the video to see if it was high. Everyone mistimes or do out of character things. It could have just looked worse as they can do. Saints will know once they've viewed it back to see whether their confident of no further action or use the early guilty plea! Just a shame if its the latter it's against Leeds!!!
As far as refs its just frustrating because it can spoil a good game. Today I thought he spoiled it and when we played Catalans and won I thought we picked up more than our deserved penalty count. Like I say though, Saints are a quality outfit!!

They just didn't turn up second half.

It simply wasn't a sending off offence. Neither was ali's or any other high shot in the game. The mistake was penalised, no injury occurred, and it's not worth the current outcry from some Wakefield fans. (Cue another 100 threads of how corrupt the rfl are when Nfa is announced) - if I didn't know better I would call it straw clutching that wouldn't of got a second mention had Wakefield won.
That's the thing. There are some poor refereeing displays all round, sometimes you get the rub of the green, sometimes you don't. Roby had a dire game when he reffed us last and gave everything against us - it all evens out over the course of a season.

I didn't go. The was 60% chance of rain and as your ground (dump) doesn't have a roof I decided not to go as my son is already full of the flu.
I could have gone in the council flats over looking your ground though

| Excellent win in the circumstances. A poor 1st half but the 2nd was much much better. Wilkin played well in the 2nd half and was probably our best player during that period.
Masoe looked good today too. Was unlucky not to score a nice try and looked a lot fitter, made good yards and I don't recall any missed tackles or errors.
Joe Greenwood impressed me when he came on and contributed well. His performance made me realise just how ridiculous it is that Wellens has been playing back row this season.
For my final point, Paul Wellens is not a halfback and if Wilkin gets a ban for next week and Wellens plays at 6 or 7 v Leeds then we are knackered.

Greenwood runs good lines. He's big and fast so can bust between the defence.

| I'm just delighted we won a potentially tricky game against very decent opponents in good form, and considering who we had to do without the two points are even sweeter. Fingers crossed we get a few back for Friday. We have nothing to fear, Leeds are beatable.

| Proud of that performance today. We went through some tough spells at times but we dug in and came away with points. To go to Wakefield with both halves, both centres and a few other key players off the field and win was very pleasing. All 17 put everything into it and we showed some great character in parts.
I'll start off by saying that the view from that stand is one of the worst in Super League but as people have pointed out, first-half we were pretty poor overall. Both teams had their spells to a certain extent but on the whole we were poor. It reminded me of last season in the sense that we probably lacked a bit of organisation when we attacked their line, but that's what happens when you are without both your first choice halves. We made a few individual mistakes and they took advantage.
Second-half though I thought we improved dramatically and were much more clinical. The lads off the bench did a great job when they came on and I think from 1-17 we stepped it up a gear. We threw Amor on for his second spell and it become relatively simple in the end for a bit. Jon Wilkin was much better second-half at 7 and Paul Wellens had a hand in a couple of tries. Hopefully that will keep a few of the critics down a for a bit. Didn't let anyone down once again. Masoe looked much better as well. I recall one carry he made where it must have took about 5/6 Wakefield defenders to bring him down. His fitness looks to be improving and made some decent yards for us. Far from ideal but he's getting there. Thought Joe Greenwood put himself about as well.
For me though, the most pleasing thing about today was that effort and commitment that we showed. It would have been easy for a side with the injuries we had to let their heads drop after the first 40 minutes but that wasn't the case. They dug in, stepped things up and we came away with the win. I don't know how we will do next week with the injuries we have, but I've no don't that they'll give it everything they've got.
As I say, very pleasing.

| Sarcasm and Irony do not flow well through the written word.
Hence when I told my boss to get stuffed in an email, they took it quite personally as opposed to the jockular manner in which it was sent.
