Maybe last year did you not watch him last Friday? Atkins pwned him.

And Senior - no way he's gone backwards.

The signing of Shenton reminds me of when we signed Gleeson from Hudds.
A half decent player with a lot of potential,personally I reckon he will be an excellent signing for Saints.

Having watched Shenton most of his career this season hasn't been his best. But there is no doubt in my mind that Saints have got themselves a good one there. Shentons problems this year have probably been down to a couple of injuries and the lack of a scrum half getting the ball his way. He's been moved from his favoured left centre position this year and not have a regular wing partnership would have hindered him.

I think Shenton is a better player than Gleeson was when he signed for Saints. He is a honest grafter that gets on with his job without all the hype, tattoos and silly hair styles that curtain other centres have to bring attention to themselves.

I will continue to cheer him on when he's on TV and look forward to seeing him improve over the years to come.

Gleeson can be, when he can be bothered. Unfortunately, he hasn't been bothered for about three years.

If Atkins, Shenton and Bridge are our 3 best centre options and Kirk Yeaman the 4th, then we look forward to Annual International Comedy RL time in November.

You big up Bridge and Atkins as though they're world beaters. Put them up against Inglis and Hodges, who they'll be facing at international level, and they look like primary school kids.

Shenton will be a good signing if true, he has pace, good pair of hands and nothing goes thru him.

It is potential we are going for & I'm fairly pleased (once confirmed) a current GB international, still pretty young and will be hungry for honours.

If he can develop like Gleeson did after stepping up (less the gambling) we have a talented prospect joining us

last season atkins was no were near as good as he is this year but with some good "coaching" from mr smith he as become one of englands better centres which i am sure will happen to shenton with our new coach. shenton is also younger than both bridge and atkins.

Nah. I'm just bigging up Bridge because I watch him every week and I know how good he is and his potential. It's not often I "big up" a player but Bridge really does excite me.

Still can't believe Gleeson isn't in the squad though, he's been fantastic all season. Him and Bridge should be our centres imo.

As for Shenton, cracking signing for saints. He'll be your centre for the next 10 yrs, he's stood out in a poor side, just hope you've not had to put too much money on the table to get him.

Not really, I just have a pure rivalry with Saints, sort of want you to do well as long as you just finish behind us sort of thing. It's better for both of us if we're both up there. Shentons a good signing, but he's not a top class centre (at least not yet), but British talent is in such demand I just hope you've not had to shell out top class centre money.

Warrington however, is just a general dislike!

Shenton wasn't worth the money he was asking. He is a good player, but his form this year has not been great, he is certainly no Lyon/Gidley.

How much was he asking then?
