I can agree with better marketing. No issues with that, but that's not down to fans. Fans by their nature (fan - short for fanatic) are perochial and are club first sport 2nd.

Again no problems with sports as a business, but when the sporting element comes so far down the pecking order of importance that the outsider, the underdog, the over achiever can't get a foot in the door, it just takes away any sporting interest (which in effect reduces the business oppertunities.)


If we want to expand then through out all current clubs bar Leeds and Hull, Then just have 12 city clubs, liverpool, birmingham, norwich, edinburgh , dublin etc and then see how long the sport survives with no real base.

You may wish a sport spread, but forcing it will not get paying fans to watch or subscribers to tune in.

Getting back to Kyle for a moment. How long does it take to sort this stuff out? I hope we don't drag it out for a few months like they do in the soaps. If they are going to do it, get it done so we can all move on.

Has anyone heard anything about this? PM me if you feel you can't/shouldn't post it. I'd love to know what is alleged to have happened and what is currently happening now. I can understand there are employment law procedures to follow, but having been through this kind of thing in work from the employers side, it can be done as quickly as it needs to be in a lot of cases, depending on what has gone on. I can't see why anyone benefits from a delay.

Without knowing about the accusation or evidence it's impossible to tell.

But the Milward thing took some months, so if guilty I would expact the same and then months if not years in legal ranglings. It all depends on the strength of the case for dismissal.

It's one thing to sack a person from a company where no one has heard of them, quite another with someone who is 1. famous 2. rich enough to hire decent legal advisors

The board have never been slouches or cowards where this is concerned, but they don't want to leave the club open to damages that could reach millions. That would destroy the club long term and if it means putting up with disruption for the year then in the long term interests we'll just have to deal with it.

He's been suspended pending an investigation. So Saints will be investigating the allegations, whatever they are. In my view Saints will need to be absolutely certain of their facts and their position before making any decisions and if that takes weeks or months then so be it. Better that than a legal action with financial consequences for the club. And Kyle Eastmond strikes me as the kind of individual who would not fight shy of making hay while the sun shines in terms of legal action and publicity should Saints not cover their backsides effectively enough. But suspension is not firing and they could be paying him full wages, depending upon what it is he is alleged to have done. However, even if the suspension does not result in a sacking, I would imagine there is no reason why Saints should play him in the first team again. They could just play him in the reserves if they have to retain him following legal counsel.

Eastmond was suspended on the Saturday. It was the gestures to the fans which got him suspended!

Honestly would prefer it if he went Salary cap and all that, but if he has to sit out for the rest of the season whilst getting paid then that's the way it is. But there should be no going back if it's going to disrupt the team again.

As I've said before, I spoke to a player I know about eastmond. Let's just say a certain player wasn't happy when eastmond didn't clap the fans after the wolves game, didnt like what he did after Quins game either.
