I don't know what Wigan have to do with a question about why O'Brien wasn't used in the absence of Briers.
But if you want to talk about Wigans academy products, I'll give you an honest answer.
We have never had less than ten in the team this season. In the past three weeks that has been fourteen, thirteen and thirteen.
Sam Powell broke his leg last year so couldn't be given a run when Tommy L was injured.
Hampshire and Williams (The current England U18 half backs) are still young and developing physically and will get some game time this season, Williams has already played twice.
I the U19's Hampshire has scored twenty four tries and kicked ninety goals from his fifteen games this season.
Williams has scored ten tries from ten games. They can both still play another year in that comp, unless they change the age groups.
Their time will come.
When Smith and Green have been out Wigan have used Williams and Powell, which brings me back on topic. I wonder why Wire didn't use O'Brien more when Briers was out for such a lengthy period. Maybe he was injured, which is why I asked the question.
