I don't remember him saying that. He said he'd been playing at centre recently. Wheeler was playing in the centres in the off season. Good on Lomax for thinking and being intelligent, and actually caring. But that team would not have gone out in that order had Royce Simmons not wanted it that way. He could just as easily have dropped Gaskell and put Lomax and Wheeler together, for example. But he believed in Gaskell, and said so publically, and was he right or was he right? All Gaskell needed was a functioning halfback partner and look how many mistakes he made! None!
He has to provide cover for the backs. With Wello playing on injections and our young guns' tendencies towards injury, he needed cover on the bench. Foster can cover fullback, and it's my theory that he was there for that purpose, playing the final ten to keep him match fit. Wheeler will now possibly take on that role, playing for some of the match in place of Gaskell. I might be wrong, but that would be my guess.'"
You seam to be looking for an arguement. I'll move on.
As for talking out of backsides, If I could do that I would not be here. I could earn Millions on the internet doing that.

Coming from a Wigan fan....
Congratulations! You not only beat the 13 men on the pitch against you but the refereeing officials too. It would seem nothing has changed this season from the last three in that Leeds are actively assisted by crooked decision making and bad calls.
Most teams fans gripe about a call here or there but they even up over a game or a season. Not in Leeds' case, they always have a following wind!

Royce Simmons has had some stick so far this season and rightly so for some things. The team has looked unmotivated, short of ideas and being honest looked pretty poor.
But tonight he deserves a huge pat on the back, he's got a reaction out of the players, got them working for each other which I didn't think possible after last weeks showing.
Well done royce and the lads!

You will look back at the end of the season and say "Our season started at Headingley on Saturday 19th March 2011"
The players now know where they stand and Eastmond is now history as you dont need him - you have got someone who wants to play for you and wear the seven shirt with pride.
The way both the players and fans celebrated after the final whistle was as if you had won the Grand Final!

I remember a time everyone was on the back of cunningham after his serious injury years ago, saying he was finished etc..

Would that try saving tackle on Ryan Hall not be included as an example of what he still has to offer? And then compare him under the high ball to how Amos Roberts was on Friday! And for someone that's meant to be so slow, he always seems to be keeping up with breaks to offer support to the player with ball in hand. |

Brent Webb is fast, but I wouldn't swap Wello for 2 Webbs.
Wellens offered enough to score a clinching try and save several others last night, added to being faultless under some good kicks. He was magnificent IMO.
Pace isn't everything. Amos Roberts has pace but did his best to give the game to Hudds on Fri, same with Webb. Wellens is a cracking full back and gets more stick than he deserves. |

I wouldn't go that far as to blame eastmond for everthing this but he's obviously played a big part in are terrible start.
He can't be blamed for our very poor defence, lack off effort and so on.
Let's hope last night put some confidence back in to the squad we kick on now and go on a good unbeaten run. |
