If you'll look back to my original post, the one which you said was "bollox", you will note that I didn't take anything away from St Helens, they played their part in a close match. But everything I said was a fact, we did have awesome defence, only allowing you in for two very well scored tries when we were a man down. We did keep Eastmond quiet, with the exception of that awesome kick to the corner that resulted in a try to you.

We did dig deep and keep attack after attack off our line, and we missed a few scoring chances of our own, just as Saints did, which would have put the game to bed.

At the end of the day, both teams are contenders for the title, we're riding higher in the table, but come the playoffs all any team has to do is win.

Clashes between fully fit Wigan, Warrington & St Helens (and others too) teams are going to be epic, and I wouldn't like to call them. But we've shown that carrying a few injuries we can muster a superb team effort. So did you.

If we don't win any silverware and this early season effort comes to nothing, naturally we'll be disappointed, but as long as we play as well as we can and play with heart and passion, I'll be happy.

Heart, passion and a strong defence won the day on Friday. I hope Wigan won't be taking anyone lightly this season, not even teams down at the bottom. Holding down at the play the ball was not the be all and end all of our victory, there were other factors, which I have explained.

Forget the season for a moment, what I'm REALLY looking forward to is the next occasion I can watch a GB or England team field a 6/7 combination of Tomkins and Eastmond. Young talent on display, with two very bright futures, and a threat to any defensive line. PROVEN.

I don't wish to continue the argument but Saintsfan, for someone who claims to be a coach, you don't half talk some garbage! May I respectfully suggest you listen to some of the knowledgeable posters on this board. You might actually learn something you could use, instead of closing your mind and thinking you are right. The fact is, Wigan currently control the play the ball better than any team in Superleague. It's within the rules (you know; the same rules you're supposedly coaching those kids to be effective in adapting to?). Watch and learn. Wigan currently have the best attack in the league. If you care to take off your blinkers you'll see it's because we consitantly hit the 2nd runner in attack and create an overlap better than anyone else. You don't score the number of points we have this season by accident! Watch and learn. Hopefully, one day when you're less biased and can appreciate good play from [uany[/u team (rather than just the good things Saints do!) and stop whining about the 'injustice' of a team doing something better than Saints, you might be able to take these things to your kids and actually pass this knowledge on to them. Just a thought!

what I'm finding really crazy is that other clubs have done things in the last few seasons that totally eclipse Wigans run of good form, which is really all it is. far play they are going well after the crap they have watched on and off for 13 years plus. but the Wigan fans reaction is over the top, the delusions of grandeur are expected. and as we all know(saints fans and Leeds fan especially) the gloating and position of superiority is premature.

They will deny it but the pie fans have made it champions or bust already by mouthing off! anything less and they will get hammered by every fan in rl. They can't help themselves

A/ Generalizing about every set of fans because 1 or 2 of them make a comment about something it applies to every one of them

B/ Being Hypocritical about it not mattering whether you finish near the Top or Not

C/ Telling everyone that Leeds will win it when it matters when you get all your players back from injury (You do realise they will still only let you put 17 out on the field don't You?).
