| Quote ="DoubleAone"Just watched a re run of the Sky coverage
Bailey is clearly seen celebrating both in front of the posts and in the ingoal area... celebrating towards the Leeds fanshich is clearly entitled to do.
There isnt one single Saints player in shot in all that coverage.
Whatever took place prior to that on the field during the game is pure speculation and Wilkin just comes across as a whinger and sore loser in the press quote.
Which is sad because the game was conducted in the best sportmanship and both teams are clearly seen congratulating and commiserating with each other after the whistle.
Nobody is saying you have to like Bailey it would be very strange if you did.
Clearly he sees his role has getting under the skin of the opposition but I dont recall him being penalised in the match for anything that could be considered unsporting or even dirty.'"
Just because it isn't on the sky footage doesn't mean it didn't happen.
Sky's footage was much shortened because they ran out of time.

Well, neither would have had much choice I should imagine. Carrying on a spat while in the England camp isn't in anyone's best interests. I'm quite sure Wilkin will keep his opinion of Bailey to himself and play politics for the good of the international game.

I would still expect Wilkin to throw the odd mis-timed hospital pass to Bailey though in the nations games.

Then IF either player did that, they should be sent home from the squad, regardless of if we win or not! I think matters have been made quite clear to them!

Funny that because it was a live broadcast in real time. Looked pretty continuous to me from the final hooter to the interviews on the pitch. From the hooter going there is no evidence that Bailey approached any Saints players whilst celebrating a truely historic victory at the Leeds end.
Sour Grapes me thinks.

Of course when Sinfield is being interviewed the whole of the pitch and every player can still be seen can't they? Are you suggesting that Wilkin and Foster are now lying?
When the final conversion is being lined Bailey is jumping around in full view of all the Saints players who are behind the line. Of course his defence to this will be he was playing to the crowd, but why not wait til the kick had been taken and he had shook hands with the Saints players as is the norm with other players.

| Just after Sinfield kicks the last conversion, you can see Wilkin shouting in the direction of the Leeds players. I can only assume this is where the incident occurs.
I can only imagine this is the point where Bailey is seen to "jump around"..............ooohhh there's a song in there somewhere

Wilkin and bailey kiss and make up!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
www.sportinglife.com/rugbyleague ... ml&BID=480
[iJon Wilkin and Ryan Bailey have kissed and made up after joining up with the England squad at Loughborough University on Wednesday.
The pair were involved in a war of words following Bailey's 'in your face' celebrations during Leeds' Grand Final victory over St Helens, which Saints second rower Wilkin called 'embarrassing'.
The duo could soon be team-mates after being named in Steve McNamara's 24-man squad ahead of the Four Nations tournament, but are now on the best of terms after burying the hatchet.
"It's part of sport, isn't it?" said Wilkin. "Personal battles happen, I think it's what makes sport interesting. Passion sometimes does overflow.
"Ryan's form has been fantastic and it's good to have him in the England team. I spoke to him before we came into camp and there are no issues.
"Those rivalries that you have are just signs that people care. I care as much for the St Helens cause as much as Ryan cares for the Leeds cause and that's why we clashed.
"If we can translate that into caring for the England cause, that will be the common bond between us."
And McNamara paid tribute to the duo, adding: "They've acted so maturely. They dealt with it themselves initially.
"The players are absolutely fine. There has been some laughing and joking and, in a silly sort of way, it's created a bit of a bond.
"It shows the passion those two players have for their own clubs and we want players with that type of passion doing that for England."
McNamara has been given unprecedented access to Super League players this year while Melbourne Storm utilty Gareth Widdop and Brisbane Broncos centre Jack Reed have also linked up with the squad.
"I'm grateful to Super League clubs for having more access to the players," said the head coach. "I would have liked more but you have to have a balance and I think the balance has been good.
"It's a really important few days for us. I'm really comfortable with how we're preparing. Hopefully this has given us a better opportunity to win."
And Wilkin, who has been involved with the national team since 2004, says the regular get-togethers of McNamara's elite training squad this year will help remove club tensions and make the current England team one of the best prepared in history.
"One thing that is different this year to other years, is that we've been in camp two or three times already," he said.
"It now seems very familiar, very comfortable, almost like a second club in that you already have a kind of kind of bond with people here and the surroundings.
"It is the best preparation without doubt. In years gone by, it was good but probably on a par with clubs.
"In terms of facilities on offer, resources, quality of coaching and time with specialist people, it's far greater than anything I've known.
"That's not a criticism of the past but it does give you the feeling of something elevated from club rugby."

The hooter had gone before the conversion so the match was over
At no stage does Bailey approach any Saints Players. He may well have been in their view but he was clearly gesturing to his own fans and not the opposition.
Still Wilkin has now issued a statement and they have both kissed and made up so prehaps we should do the same.....

Not according to James Grahams Twitter......i dont know how to create a link but words along the line of no chance of buring the hatchet and Bailey getting into trouble in the pool and Wilkin throwing him both ends of the rope. Last we need in the England is another feud between Leeds and Saints players. Gonna be hard enough getting anywherfe near the Kiwis and Aussies as it is.

| i dont honestly research peoples twitter accounts, i dont follow JammerGraham whether it is fake or not. It was retweeted by a local journalist so at an initial glance and with the long running tensions between saints and leeds players it seemed genuine enough at first glance which is all the attention i paid. I follow the journalist about various sporting stories locally. thought it might have been of interest when i saw this thread.

| Obviously Iwasnt at the game, but if Baileys behaviour was what I have been reading ,I couldnt defend it.I was there when Jammer blew us all a kiss after a Saints try at the Galpharm in 2008,but Jammer can actually play a bit so all the best for the furture James. However I do remember Jon Wilkin complaining of the noise coming from the Leeds dressing room celebrating celebrating GF win 2007 I think it was.Everyone must be upset at losing a GF ,and everyone is entitled to whoop and sing in the winning dressing room.I think the press must make a bee line for JON because they know he lets his emotions rule his head

| I really dont know what Wilkin was on about, i've just watched the game back and when Ablett scores on 73 mins to put Leeds 24-16 up Bailey is seen infront of the Leeds fans with no saints players around him with his arms in the air, just after Sinfield does the exact same thing. All this takes place as the saints players are walking back to the sticks (except Meli who stays sat on the ground) so I don't see how this can antagonise anyone. I didn't notice Bailey doing the same when Burrow scored infront of the saints fans.
The little scrap on 76mins was between Ablett and Wilkin and Bailey only joined in after Wilkin throw some handbag punches at Ablett (don't know how we didn't get a penalty awarded to us) if you listen carefully as Bentham talk to James Childs he say "i seen Ryan come in" and Child says "Wilkins holding him, slight use of the knee but not a lot in it" so they agree to play handover. I think this is why Bailey is so annoyed.
And finally as Sinfield take the last kick Ryan is behind him bouncing along to the Leeds fans singing "We're Leeds Rhinos"
Bailey is a passionate Leeds lad who loves Leeds, personally don't see anything wrong with it. I did notice though is some saints player walking off down the tunnel before Kev had even picked up the trophy (on highlights it's about when Jones-Bishop picks up his medal) that is appalling not all the players did and I couldn't make out who did but they should show respect to the team that won. I don't mind the fans going they pay their money it's up to them but players should be made to wait on the field until the opposing captain lifts the trophy.
If any saints fans could inform be when Bailey was squaring up to their youngsters I would be happy to look again but never saw when I was in Old Trafford and could see it when i watched the replay.

All the Leeds playere were and always are MAGNANIMOUS in victory. They also celebrate it.
It was an historic victory to equal if not netter the previous 3 in a row.
Some Saints fans and one player just look petty and mean.
