I honestly couldn't understand why any NRL club would want him at this stage of his career. In a year or 2 when he's won 7 or 8 trophies at Saints  I'm sure they'll be queueing up for him. But now? Even more unlikely given the dosh that they'd have to put Saints way to take him off our hands. I shall continue to assume the rumours are bunk until an official announcement is made otherwise. |

I got a reply to my txt, no mention of brown getting the job, they had 10 on the list of possible coaches and now down to two but Brown apprantley isn't one of them.

I think it's safe to say that if Brown doesn't get the Tigers job, he's going to have to accept that success at Saints is his only chance now of getting an NRL job.

He won stuff with Wests though, which is more than Brown has done.
My nervousness about Brown still exists in that I'm still concerned about how Hudds repeatedly faded away towards the end of the season, how they didn't seem to have the bottle for the big games (and we need our bottle back!), how their defence went to pot over the years he was with them, and how he periodically would yearn for life down under. I suppose the only way for those concerns to be allayed is by going through a season with him in charge. Hopefully he can create something good out of the hotchpotch of players we have.
Either way, I'm glad Rush is no longer in charge. That's a definite bonus. |
