| This is St Helens we are talking about, where the majority of the town have nothing but apathy for the club (I have no reason why).
id expect our average to be 12-13k in the first season tops, then 10k-11k in the second season when away fans have seen our stadium.

I think there is a lot of apathy in the town. But there are also a lot of people who wouldn't go to Knowsley Road because of the facilities.
If we don't see a sizeable increase then we're doing something drastically wrong.

| I did a count yesterday and got roughly the same numbers as Chris Saint.
North stand tickets sold - 2600 out of a total of 2787.
South stand tickets sold - 1338 out of a total of 1924
3938 allocated tickets sold.

| Surely your season ticket sales in the first year will be the die hard fans who will buy them no matter what. Especially now the club is back in town.
The figure will increase before the start of next season.
I think you will sell a lot more the 2nd season. A lot of Saints fans will be walk up in the first year and then after liking what they see with the stadium and team will buy a ST for the following year.
I do disagree that your crowds will decrease the 2nd year, I think they'll increase. More ST holders and more walk up. Also when word gets around about the new standium more away fans will turn up the 2nd year.
From the photos the new place looks very good. If it is as good as it looks then crowds will go up on the KR figures and by quite a bit too!

| Quote ="Saddened!"So on best estimates how many season ticket holders are we looking at for next season?
What will our average be?'"
Tricky to estimate as seating configuration has changed a little, but off the plans at the council
North Allocated 2600/2787
North Unallocated ??/1848
South Allocated 1338/1924
South Unallocated ??/818
South Family Stands ??/834
South Corporate 800?/1426 (seems a lot but based on planned capacity less everything else)
South Boxes 360/360 (according to reports)
West Terracing ??/3800
West Seating ??/62
Wheelchairs ??/121
If we manage to sell 50% of the unkowns that would be 8,800, I'd certainly hope we'd exceed that in the terracing and be pushing 10,000 in time for February but it requires stay aways from KR taking the plunge and committing.
As for averages, at KR we had around 6,000 season tickets and averaged 11,000 in 2009, if we have 9,000 ST's at the new gaff and some increased away support then 13,000 should be easily achievable.

| If we get 10k season ticket holders then we will average 14k easily. With 6k being our previous ST total. We have to remember that just under 4k of tickets cant be sold as they are in the away end.
We have no idea how many will go at Christmas as pressies for a hubby or wife.
Its feasable that in a few years there will be no abilty to walk up to a Saints match except for away end standing only.

| To put the numbers into context if you sell out 3 games Then you only need to average 12800. For the rest of the season. Wigan and Warrington will sell out no problems and you would imagine the first game and the widnes game will be close to sell outs. preferably I would take a team with a smaller away following for the first game as Saints alone could sell this one with it being the first. I'd prefer Widnes as a second game to keep the momentum going and with early season optimism from both Saints and widnes fans. Then this too could sell out.

Yes and no.
I asked Saints the question about future plans for ticket allocations and the club's dream it would seem would be to have an all season ticket holder stadium. However, I didn't get an answer to my follow up question which was what about newbie supporters? As everyone knows, season ticket holders don't always turn up but their seat is treated as if they are always there. Yet if I want to bring along someone new and all the seats are taken by season ticket holders, I would have nowhere to take the new person.
Hopefully there will always be some space for newbies to just turn up.

The away end will never fill out for every game. There are also the cup games and away games.
Also lets not forget two of the corners are not filled in so there is room to expand if we did reach maximum numbers. Also people do die so you cant hold onto a season ticket for ever.

Your a lot more optimistic than me with regard to season ticket sales.
I'm thinking more in the region of 7-8k for a final figure.
A lot for me depends on how many people are buying terrace season tickets. For these there isnt a mad rush to get one as your viewing spec doesnt matter if you bought one in August or in January. This is of course not the case with seating where its very much a case of those who buy first get the best specs.
With regard to Season ticket sales at Knowsley road. I recall there being some specific figures in the planning documents, and if my memory serves me correct the actual number of sales was nearer to 5k than 6k.

Hopeful more than optimistic 10,000 was a dream case for this first season
I do expect more than 7,000 at present, this is based on us already having 4,000 allocated seat sales and the supposed 1000 corporates added to the standing and family areas etc... but as we've both alluded to terracing is key to decent figures, the only rush is the early bird / renewal pricing options. I would love a counter on the sales to give us an idea in those unallocated regions.
It is interesting if we only had around 5,500 season tickets and still our average attendence was more than double that number (not even including the last season) that is significant walk up given only 2 teams brought huge away support.

I think you are underestimating the desire from some to secure a space on that terracing. It is only one end of the ground and there are a lot of people who want to stand (for example my dad and brother bought a terracing ticket the day they were released).
I think we'll sell a lot of the terracing STs.

I was one of those. I went down to the first forum and would have renewed there and then but for the electricity going off. Two nights later I was back. Relative to the overall capacity, the home standing area is small. A top priority was getting my season ticket renewed to secure my spot!

I hope you are right, I'm actually one myself, 3 of us opted for the 5 year standing ticket as I wanted to make sure I secured our spots on the terracing with it being small numbers in proportion to KR. Plenty chose the standing end at Widnes and if everyone there had renewed that would be around 50% of the standing tickets but just how many of these have stayed standing or opted for the North/South is hard to tell.
I would hope we'd sell [iat least[/i 75-80% of standing tickets but it is impossible to gauge how well they are going without word from the club but at the moment you can get 10 in each category on the shop at the same time which is equivalent to 250 people.

| I think it's time for an update from the club. Doesn't have to be a proper announcement, the marketing manager could just let us know on here.

I agree, I would have thought that the standing die hards would have snapped them all up.
I am a little disappointing that the club has not come up with some scare mongering press releases about tickets going fast (regardless of truth). Something like "Places in limited supply*, heading towards a season ticket sell out** in the West and North Stands". At the very least there should be some milestone press releases.
* True as the stadium has a limited capacity
** True because season ticket sales are going up not down (It's called marketing not lying).

True. Makes you wonder if the club even has a marketing department. You shouldn't be able to move in the town centre for hot chics trying to flog you a season ticket.
It would have been something Paul Wellens could have done to justify his salary. Get him out knocking on doors getting season tickets sold.
10,000 should have been the target.
