I agree though, isn't it funny how people know exactly what happened in private meetings with players, clubs, agents... its a shame most of the stories from those in the know differ so much!!!

At the end of the day only a select few will know what Shenton has signed for, we might have offered most, we might not have, it isn't always about the most cash there is career progression and development, finals, medals, new team mates, how well the club treats you all sorts will go into a decision like that - unless you were stuart fielden and were offered the earth would money be the only choice

Being nice I actually think he'll do a decent job for you. He's got pace a bit of footwork and the main thing he's got age on his side, so any little weaknesses in game he'll have time to iron out.

I think it was Warrington who offered the money, But he chose saints, Bradford couldnt meet his demands, Wigan and Cas couldnt compete with the deal Saints have offered. Lets just say, He hasnt gone there on the cheap

I love these statements. I take it you can state this because you've spoken to all concerned and they all told you what he was asking and what they were prepared to offer.

This is what gets me.A player turns a club down and the the fans say they werent turned down,its just that they wouldnt meet the wage demands.I bet if there were no salary cap warrington and wigan would have been back with bigger offers.At the end of the day Saints have a fair bit of spare salary cap,they were able to offer Shenton more.But dont believe hes on mega bucks,our chairman is no mug and hes got a new stadium to pay for !

Where Saints are concerned, announcements are like buses. You don't see one for bloody ages and then a million come all at once!

Nothing official yet. But the tone of Castleford's statement suggests that he's going with their blessing, in which case I doubt we'll have to wait until September to find out one way or the other.

Nope dont rate him.He looks like he would a job,and nothing else.Nothing specail about him,Would rather have Atkins over him.I didnt think much of Atkins when he signed for us.But i have changed my veiw on him, now i have seen play a number of games.Atkins has power, pace and a eye for the try line.Plus just recent adding the kicking game to his amoury.Defence has improved under TS.

From what i have seen of Shenton he has none of these attributes.

One thing you learn about Cas is they cant hold thier own water, Everyone knew Danny Orr was signing 3 months ago, The agents/ Players/ Officials etc cant keep their mouths shut and everything gets out, its only a small town
