I can't remember who did it but I did see someone kick Wello in the head, yes. I just can't remember which Wigan player it was.

As I mentioned in the other thread, it was definitely McIlorum. It looked to me like he intentionally kneed Wellens in the head. Wellens was on his hands and knees recovering from a head knock, and McIlorum, who had plenty of time to avoid him, basically ran straight through his head.

That's how it looked, but I could be wrong. It happened off camera, so the sky coverage doesn't confirm anything.

Didn't see anything on the tape, not that I'm saying it didn't happen. Quite a few thing's missed/ignored from Silverwood today.

I missed the incident as well, just saw a saints player injured on the ground in back play, didn,t even know it was Wellens.
But quite a few fans behind me must have seen it as they mentioned a kick or knee to the head, if it is Micky Mac with his past history it won,t take long for the disciplinary to have a look at it.

It was in back play, so doubt sky cameras would have picked anything up.

As I say, it was a question as to whether something happened rather than an accusation.

I saw Wellens on the ground trying to get back to his feet when the Wigan player went into him and cought him on the head. The Wigan player could have avoided the contact. I doubt it would be on film as the cameras would have kept up with play which had passed further upfield. It was totally un-necessary for him to have hit the player.

There are numerous camera's at a game, I'm pretty certain if there was anything done a wide angle camera would have seen it. But I did not see anything from the game.

I saw something, but Sky didn't go back to it. Looked like he kicked/kneed him when he was trying to get back up.

Just because Sky didn't show it doesn't mean a camera didn't pick it up. If the producer / editor didn't see it, they wouldn't go back to it - but its there, recorded,

Where did this so called event happen? I seem to recall Wellens being injured in the half surrounded by Wigan fans on all 3 sides. Perhaps some envious Saints fans saw a mirage.

It was in the second half and it was probably about the forty metre line. All the other players had moved up the pitch following the ball. You were probably watching the ball at the time but we could see the incident quite clearly.

In all fairness, it happened. It was in the second half about 30m out from Wigan's line (Saints end) just left of the posts. There was undoubtedly contact between McIllorum's knee and Wellens' head, it was obvious. However, I couldn't say with any certainty whatsoever it was intention or not. It appeared McIllorum had enough time to avoid the contact but I've been hit in the head in similar circumstances by my own players so I wouldn't like to say without definitive evidence.

What are we envious of exactly? What a ridiculous comment. It was just before a try scored in the second half btw, think it was just before the Crosby try?

Something seemed to have happened, and the fact that other people also saw something suggests there MAY be something in it.

Saints fans appeared to shout for something everytime Micky Mac did anything. He tackled a player round the legs and they screamed for something.

(not saying it didn't happen BTW. I seem to recall him being down and then falling back down again as he tried to get up but I put it down to him not having a clue where he was tbh)

If anything happened the camera's will have got it.

If there is any incident involving Mickey Mac in back play or after the ball has gone then there is a high probability that it won,t be a mirage.
We will know by Tuesday, meanwhile because of Micky Mac,s envious history he will be pre judged guity until proved innocent.

If it had been the other way round Wigan fans would be calling for Wellens head on a platter.

W ahat makes this particularly unsavoury if true is attacking the head of an already concussed player.

If I had to name player capable of something like that, I'd name McIlorum.

First of all I didn't see it as I suspect the majority of fans also didn't. Having watched the video, Wellens makes a poor tackle on Richards (gets his head in the wrong position) and gets a knock, but he gets back in the defensive line for the next tackle. He is also back in the defensive line when Crosby scores.

But before he could get to his feet he was knocked down again by the Wigan player. There were no other players around as they had all moved up field with the play. There was no need for him to have been anywhere near Wellens he could have avoided him. I think he needs to go to Specsavers if he can't see that far infront of him.

So was he knocked down, kicked in the head or hit with a knee? There appears to be a few different versions.

As Wellens was trying to get up off the floor he was on all fours by this time, (hands and knees ) the Wigan player ran in to him and caught him in the head with a knee or foot which knocked him back down again. The point is there was no need for the Wigan player to have gone anywhere near to were Wellens was. After he had knocked him down again he just carried on running up the field.
